Dear Evergreen Elementary School Community,
March has been a month full of activities and engagment for all of us at Evergreen Elementary! We are thrilled to share some of the exciting events and accomplishments that have taken place over the past month.
Math Night Success
We kicked off the month with our highly anticipated Math Night, which saw an incredible turnout of over 200 enthusiastic participants! It was a fantastic opportunity for students and parents alike to engage in fun and interactive math activities, fostering a love for learning beyond the classroom. Thank you Ms. Sevilla and to the many staff voliunteers who help make this event such a success.
ELPAC Glow Event
Our ELPAC Glow Event illuminated the room with creativity and talent! Students showcased their English language proficiency skills in a vibrant and engaging setting, shining a light on their academic growth and achievements. Thank you Mrs. Brown, Rita and Susie for putting on this great experience for our students.
CAASPP Parent Meeting
We hosted a CAASPP Parent Meeting to provide valuable insights into the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress. Thank you to all the parents who attended; your involvement and support play a crucial role in our students' academic success.
Spirit Assembly
Our monthly Spirit Assembly brought together our Evergreen Eagles to celebrate school spirit, positive behavior, and outstanding achievements. It was a joyous occasion filled with cheers, applause, and a strong sense of community. Thank you to the Student Assembly Action Team for putting on a great assembly.
Open House
Our Open House event was a resounding success, providing an opportunity for parents to meet with teachers, explore classrooms, and gain insight into their child's educational journey. Our student leaders showcased their leadership skills and led their parents through the classroom and campus with confidence and pride. It was wonderful to see our school buzzing with excitement and pride!
Walnut Valley Elementary Track Meet
Lastly, we are incredibly proud of our Evergreen Eagles who competed in the Walnut Valley Elementary track meet. Their dedication, athleticism, and sportsmanship were truly commendable, representing Evergreen Elementary with pride and determination. A huge shout out to our Track Coach and Counselor, Mr. Hurst for putting this team together and leading them to a wonderful performance.
Leader in Me
As we continue to implement the Leader in Me, and find the leader in everyone, I’d like to remind you of our school-wide goal. Our goal is to have all students, TK-5th grade demonstrate and recognize the 8 Habits. It would be a great idea to talk to your child and ask him/her about the habits. You might surprise with all the knowledge they’ve gained. Thank you staff and community for working together to help our students meet this goal.
As we look forward to the warmer days ahead, we hope that everyone enjoys a wonderful and restful Spring Break. May this time off provide an opportunity to Sharpen The Saw, spend quality time with loved ones, and return refreshed and ready for the exciting challenges that await us.
Wishing you all a happy and rejuvenating Spring Break!
Best,
Dr. Cardenas, Ed.D., Principal
