Congratulations: UIL Performances, Colorguards, and Jazz Ensemble!
AHS/LFC had SEVEN BANDS earn first division ratings in Concert & Sightreading and FOUR BANDS earn Sweepstakes awards (first division ratings from all six judges). Judges enjoyed performances and appreciated the staff and students for hosting a great contest.
Jazz Ensemble at Wylie East Jazz Festival
The jazz ensemble had a great performance earning a first division rating at the Wylie East Jazz Festival. This completes the contest season for the Jazz Ensembles.
Varsity & JV Red Winterguard at NTCA Championships
Varsity and JV Red had their final contest this weekend at Flower Mound and Coppell High School. JV Red placed 10th in the SAA Championships. Varsity earned 2nd in their round at prelims and earned 4th place in SA Finals (out of 31 North Texas guards).

Banquet: Saturday, May 4
Band and Colorguard! Come out and celebrate another incredible year! CLICK HERE to get your tickets.
The Band Banquet is set for Saturday, May 4, from 5:30pm - 10:00pm. Doors open at 5:30pm, with dinner being served at 6pm. After dinner, there will be a presentation of awards. Students will end the night with a dance in the PAC Commons and optional games in the Black Box Theater.
Get your tickets by April 15 before the $5 price increase. All ticket sales end at midnight on May 1. Don't miss this fun and Celestial night!

Looking Ahead: Required Movement Camps & Registration
All 2024-2025 Band students are required to attend our two movement camps and registration. Please make appropriate arrangements to be at all three events. Please know that 2024-2025 Band Fees payments are expected at registration. See required band fees below. Mr. Camp will email the 2024-2025 Guard Fees this week.
- April 16 Movement Camp 1: 5pm-6:30pm (AHS Competition Gym)
- April 23 Movement Camp 2: 5pm-6:30pm (AHS Competition Gym)
- April 25 Registration: 5pm-8pm
Band Fees Required on April 25: All items are required for all band students. You do not need to buy them if you already own them and still fit. These are the only fees we charge for the entire year. Optional trips are separate fees.

SLT & Drum Major Workshops on Wednesday
If you are interested in trying out for drum major or SLT, we will begin our training/workshops this Tuesday. They will be held (mostly) on Wednesdays from 4:30pm-6pm in the AHS Band Hall. The first 45 minutes will be general leadership/SLT training and the second 45 minutes will be specific training for drum majors. AHS & LFC Wind Ensembles will be required to attend the first 45 minutes of the SLT workshops as part of their Musicianship Class. Seniors will be able to share their experiences with the class.

2024-2025 AHS Concert & Jazz Placements

The AHS master schedule is being constructed based on our band classes. There will not be class conflicts with Dual Credit and STEAM classes. Do not assume that next year's band, Dual credit, or STEAM classes are the same class periods as this year. Please let Dr. Obado know if your name is not listed and planning on being in band next year.

2024 Leadership & Required Marching Band Events
The band staff is already preparing for the 2024 marching season. See image below for the required Spring and Summer required events.
