I always enjoy a week where there's a residential visit and I must say, our Year 5/6 children who attended the Low Mill Centre were an absolute credit to us. I visited for day on Monday and it was great to watch the children complete the zip-wire challenge. Not one of them ducked out, showing perseverance and support for each other; some of our core school values. Mr Snowden then commented that the rest of the week carried on in a similar manner, with excellent attitudes towards abseiling, kayaking and team work activities. Well done Y5/6.

Our Clubs offer returns next week on Wednesday, with the exception of Running Club, which will take place again on Thursday.

With Y6 away, it was over to Y3 to visit Reception as reading superstars. They loved it!

Low Mill - The adventure of a lifetime!

World Book Day was a huge success and thank you to everyone who came along dressed as their favourite book character. You all looked amazing!

As always it didn't take much encouragement to get the teaching team involved, knowing they love to dress up!

Talk is really important for all learners in school and we know that our children are exposed to lots of exciting learning opportunities, both at home and at school. To help develop speaking and listening skills and knowledge of the wider world, we're introducing Car Convos! A topic that we share in the newsletter on a Friday, that families can discuss in the car on their travels. We'll then pick this up after the weekend.

This week in school has been World Book Day which celebrates the wonderful world of reading. Our Car Convo this week therefore aims to build on this.

It seems with have a very talented cheerleader in our midst at Appleton. Eva Herbert received a medal in the team awards at a competition last Sunday, followed by a 'no faults' recognition award for her work in club earlier this week. It's great to see our pupils having huge success outside of school too. Well done Eva!
