Spring break is here even though the weather seems more like winter break. When we return in April, we will be in the last quarter of the school year. The next two months will go by quickly, but I know we will have lots of learning and fun until the last day!

Students in 3rd, 4th and 5th grade will be participating in IAR assessments. Please have their Chromebooks charged daily and help them get a good night's rest. We know they have been working hard and are prepared to show all that they know.

The Ferson Family Dance is the Friday after spring break. We are looking forward to a fun family event. Links to buy tickets and to volunteer can be found below. Join us for a fun night of dancing, snacking, and socializing!

Starting Monday, April 1st, no outside drinks (Starbucks, Dunkin', etc.) will be allowed for students at school. Students will be directed to finish beverages that are not water before entering the building.

Additionally, students should not need any beverages in the classroom aside from water. Prime and Gatorade can be saved for lunches, not the classroom. Please make sure your child has a water bottle with them at school.

Upon returning from spring break our 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students will be participating in IAR assessments. Please be sure your child's Chromebook is charged each and every day, as the assessments are digital assessments. Be sure your child has headphones to use as well. It is important for students to get a good night's sleep and eat a healthy breakfast each day. Regardless of testing, this is good practice for students of elementary age.

Testing will take place on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday during the first two weeks after break. All students will test in the morning beginning at 8:15 am. Please have your children arrive at school on time so we can begin testing on time.

The D303 donation drive for Bernie’s Book Bank will be held April 1-12 at all D303 schools. Please consider bringing in new and gently used children’s books for birth through 6th grade to one of the D303 schools during the donation drive. Parents or students may place books in the collection bins located in the front hallway. D303’s goal for the 2024 donation drive is 20,000 books. Every book will help us reach our goal!

The 2nd Annual Ferson Family Dance

The District 303 Board has approved boundary maps for elementary, middle, and high schools. Maps are effective with the 2024-2025 school year beginning this fall. The Board's decision completes a process that began last fall to reduce school overcrowding and help to ensure equitable learning experiences across the District. District 303 had contracted with demographer RSP & Associates to create concept maps based on Board-approved guiding principles and community feedback. Please see the parent notice from Superintendent Gordon to learn more and review the approved maps.

The Spirit Morning schedule has been updated with dates for second semester. Please come and join us for a morning of welcoming our Ferson students to school. Each month we have a theme to welcome students into their school day. If you are interested in helping bring some excitement to school drop off from 7:40 - 8:00 am, sign up here.
