PRINCIPAL UPDATE
Northeast STEAM Night was a big success! It was great to see so many students with their families engaging in the many STEAM activities throughout the Gym and Cafeteria from pattern block art to creating simple machines to building spaghetti towers to playing bucket percussion. It was a fun filled event and there were smiles everywhere! A special thank you to our 2024 STEAM Night planning committee: Ms. Jennifer-Ann Caruso, Mrs. Ann McNamara, Mrs. Maria Russo, Mrs. Laura Vittum, and Mrs. Erin Sorbera. Thank you also to the many staff members, parents and community members who volunteered their time to help make this event as spectacular as it was! There are some pictures below.
Please take a moment to take this brief STEAM Night Family Survey. This will help us with our planning for next year! Thank you!
There will be voting at Northeast on Tuesday, March 5th for the Presidential Primary Election. Voting takes place in the Gym. Voters arrive and leave through the Gym doors. Physical Education classes will take place elsewhere in the school on that day.

NORTHEAST DESE SCHOOL REPORT CARD
Every year, the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education releases a report card for each school and district in the state. Just as a student's report card shows how they are doing in different classes, school and district report cards are designed to show parents and community members how a school or district is doing in different areas. Report cards highlight a school or district's strengths as well as any challenges that need to be addressed in order to make sure the needs of all students are being met.

WALTHAM BOYS & GIRLS CLUB 5th ANNUAL SCIENCE FAIR
The Education Department of the Waltham Boys & Girls Club has put on a science fair annually since the Spring of 2018. For the safety of our community, there was no event in 2020 and 2021 due to the spreading of the coronavirus. Our science fair aims to open the youth in our community to opportunities to win awards, gain a deep understanding of an area of science that interests them, and challenge themselves. Science fairs help develop various skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, time management, and communication by applying the principles of the scientific method. A science fair is a great opportunity for youth to build their confidence in their presentation skills. It is also a way for them to share their knowledge and expertise with the community. We at the Waltham Boys & Girls Club acknowledge how profound and impactful science fairs are to our community and are excited to announce this year’s date: Wednesday, May 8, 2024 from 4 - 6 pm
MCAS SPRING 2024
