Dear Field Parents and Guardians,

We hope that you have had a nice week! As we move into March, we begin to prepare for the 2024-2025 school year. Each year, we provide parents an opportunity to share information about their child(ren), how they learn best, and preferences about peers in their classroom. If you are interested in sharing information, please use this form. You are able to complete this form until April 5th. Thank you for your partnership!

A few important reminders are listed below:

• Please register your children for next year. The deadline is quickly approaching on March 22nd. Registration only takes a few minutes and you can pay the school fees at a later date. As of now, we have 140 more children to register. Thank you!

• Please be sure to review the upcoming March calendar - we have a number of days off this month.

• The school calendar for next school year (2024-2025) is published on the District website: https://www.d64.org/about/calendar-overview. Please be sure to review it prior to making summer plans. Students first day of school is August 14th.
  

• Please see the important information in this newsletter regarding IAR testing for grades 3-5.

The Illinois Assessment of Readiness Test, a state-required assessment for all students in Illinois in grades 3-8, will be administered in District 64 from March 11-March 22.

The best preparation for the IAR has been the quality instruction our teachers have provided this school year. However, there are things you can also do to promote your child’s success:

• Make sure your child gets a good night’s sleep and eats a healthy breakfast before each day of testing.

• Provide your child with words of encouragement. While we don’t want our students to feel anxious about any assessment, we do want them to do their best.

• The IAR is an online assessment and students will be using their Chromebooks to complete these tests. Please make sure your child brings his or her Chromebook to school each day, fully charged.

• Please be sure your child arrives on-time each day and avoids any early dismissals as testing occurs during different times of day for each grade level.

Below is our school’s schedule for test administration:

Monday, March 11: Math Test 1

Tuesday, March 12: ELA Test 1

Wednesday, March 13: Math Test 2

Thursday, March 14: ELA Test 2

Friday, March 15: Math Test 3

If you would like to learn more about the IAR tests, sample tests are available for your review. Thank you for your support in helping your child be prepared for upcoming testing.

Tickets are available for the Field School V Show 70!. This year's show, ...And We Turned Out Fine, is another sketch comedy written, produced and performed by Field parents. The show is light, moves quickly and offers fun for all ages. Tickets are $10 each, proceeds from V Show 70 benefit the Field school playground project. Purchase tickets here.

(Enter on the Elmore side of the building). The show is approximately two hours which includes an intermission.

The Field Yearbook team is in need of photo submissions for:

1. Halloween parties ONLY

2. Field Follies

3. Holiday Sing

4. Band

5. Science Olympiad

And any other Field event where there is a special picture shot of your child enjoying their elementary year at Field School (spelling bee, young authors, battle of books, etc.!

It's time to purchase this year’s 2023-2024 Field Yearbook! Yearbook purchase is open on the PTO website. Each book = $25 and the deadline to purchase is April 26th, 2024.

Mark your calendars! Here are important dates regarding registration for the 2024-2025 school year.

• January 16th, 2024 - Registration begins for ALL District 64 students. (This includes *Preschool and Kindergarten)
• March 22nd, 2024 - Registration closes

*Parents that are registering their child for preschool for the 2024-2025 school year, will not be invoiced for tuition and fees at this time

More information will continue to be communicated to families. Plus, all important info will be posted on our Registration Page as well.

• March 8 & 9: First weekend of VShow performances (see above info to purchase tickets)
  
• March 11: IAR starts for students in grades 3-5
• March 12: 4th and 5th grade Chorus Concert at 7pm in the North Gym
• March 15 & 16: Second weekend of VShow performances
• March 19: No School
• March 21: Board of Education meeting at 7pm
• March 25-April 1: Spring Break
• April 2: Welcome back to school!

VIP & Me Luau: SAVE THE DATE! Ticket sales open Friday, March 15, 2024, at 9:00 AM (CDT). Volunteer opportunities to be announced soon.

Field Headbands: The PTO has some Field headbands left! If you are interested in purchasing one, please reach out to fieldptovp@gmail.com.

5th grade promotion party - Tickets are on sale. 5th grade parents ONLY - log-in to your account on fieldpto.org and go to "My Account" then "My Forms." Tickets are $30 and the party will be on Tuesday, June 4th, from 6-8 pm, at Field.
