Message From Onondaga Road School Principal
Dear Onondaga Road Families,
Can you believe it? Spring Break is upon us which means that we are approaching the final stretch of the school year! As we gear up for the last leg of this academic year, I wanted to take a moment to share some tips to help us all finish the school year strong.
1. Stick to Routines:
Routines are the backbone of success, especially during busy times. Let's make sure we stick to our routines, whether it's bedtime, morning routines, or homework schedules. Consistency helps maintain focus and keeps everyone on track for success.
2. Prioritize Self-Care:
As the school year winds down, it's easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of activities and events. However, it's crucial to prioritize self-care for both students and adults alike. Encourage your children to get enough sleep, eat healthily, and take breaks when needed. Our students can become so busy that it is important to remember that some downtime can be needed.
3. Communicate Openly:
Effective communication is essential, especially as we navigate the final weeks of the school year. If you have any questions, or concerns, or need support, don't hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher or myself. We're here to help ensure a smooth and successful end to the school year for everyone.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Spring Break!
Respectfully,
Michelle Collier

Cafeteria News
Our Food Service wanted to remind families to have discussions with students about what they are purchasing for lunch. Our District offers free breakfast and lunch for all students, but if students would like to get extra snacks or ice cream those are items that will need to be purchased. Also, sometimes students will purchase snacks and share them with their friends. While we love to see this generosity in our students, we want to make sure that families are aware of the potential costs with this.
PTA News
The PTA has had a great year and is getting ready for end of the year events including the Olympics, End of the Year Picnic and special events planned for the graduating fourth graders! Please consider volunteering for these events by signing up via the Onondaga Road Elementary School PTA page on Facebook once sign ups are posted. More information about the PTA’s End of the Year Picnic will be coming home in May, and in keeping with years’ past this is the only PTA event that charges admission of $2 per person, with a maximum of $10 per family.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Gertrude Hawk fundraiser, which raised just over $10,000 towards next year’s PTA budget.
Join us for the next PTA meetings on May 2nd at 6:00 pm in the Library.
