Calendar reminders
The Blanco ISD school board adjusted the original 2023-24 school calendar several months ago by moving the April 1 holiday to April 8 - which is the day of the eclipse. The reason for that change was that Blanco is expected to be a popular site for visitors to view the eclipse and travel may be difficult. As a result April 1 is a regular school day and April 8 is now a holiday. The online calendars are updated, but if you printed out or saved the original calendar, it now has some incorrect dates on it. Please make note of these changes if you have not already done so.
Blanco ISD will have an early release for students on Thursday, March 28.
Friday, March 29 will be a student and staff holiday.
Monday, April 1 is a regular class day.

Construction Update
The pad is complete for the Educational Center for the Arts. The first round of concrete for the foundation is being poured today (Friday 3/22). This will be done in stages and not all at once. When that is complete, the building will start going vertical and more progress will be noticeable. Completion is scheduled for late Spring 2025.
Things are progressing with the field house. Major work moving dirt for the pad is ongoing. They are working to create the pad and getting it level with the track. The field house should be ready early in the upcoming football season.
Check back for more details as the construction process progresses.
