Updates & Reminders:
Fall Ball
The students had a great time at our fall ball last Friday evening! Thank you PTA. Check out some pictures below.
** Media Center GRAND OPENING--Special VIP **
We have a special VIP attending our Red Carpet Reading Night. Wendy Hornik, who is a middle school English and Literature teacher at Saint Mary Parish School in Hales Corner, Wisconsin will be joining us. She has just published her first book, Harriet Follows Her Heart, which has a beautiful message that encourages children to follow their dreams. She is excited and honored to read her story at Family Night!
Students will receive 20% off copies of Harriet Follows Her Heart! We have attached an order form if you would like to purchase a signed copy of her book. Please return the form to the school by Monday, November 27th. She accepts checks, cash, or Venmo. If you Venmo your payment, please include your first and last name and add who you would like the book addressed to. An adorable “Harriet” bow will come with each purchase. The book will be available at Family Night and on Amazon and Barnes & Noble!
Remember families, in order to attend this event, we are looking for you to RSVP. Please fill out this form to let us know you are planning to attend. This will get you on our VIP guest list.
Hannum Food Drive
We are hosting our annual Thanksgiving food drive for families in need. If you are interested in donating, please take a look at the flyer below for more information. Thank you in advance for your generosity!
School Safety
As I mentioned last week we are making changes to our current practices here at Hannum based on recommendations from our safety audit and meetings with our first responders. Beginning tomorrow, November 15th, we will no longer be accepting outside deliveries in the office. All items will be dropped off in our vestibule. Any parents or guardians that need to drop items off to students will use our buzzer to get buzzed into the vestibule. There you will write the student's name on a sticky note and place it on the lunch or material you are bringing and leave on the table. Our staff will check the table to deliver lunches and materials to students as needed. Parents/guardians will only enter the office if they are dropping off/picking up a student from school, have an appointment, or need to see the nurse. We appreciate your understanding with these changes as they are for the safety of our students.
