It is all about pathway opportunities...
Spaulding will be hosting a Career and College Fair on May 8th. We currently have 64 colleges, businesses, and community partners who will be in attendance. Students will have opportunities to talk with college representatives, look at post-graduation employment opportunities, as well as participate in on-the-spot interviews for summer jobs.
Freshmen explore Pathway opportunities with trips...
On March 23rd, our freshman class participated in our first Freshman Pathways Day. While sophomores and juniors took the PSAT/SATs, freshmen had the opportunity to participate in field trips to explore various post-graduate pathways. Students were able to attend field trips for healthcare to Frisbie and Portsmouth Hospital, cosmetology at Paul Mitchell the School, building and fixing at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, business and marketing at the Fisher Cats, manufacturing at Sig Sauer, and continuing education at NHTI, Great Bay Community College, and Southern New Hampshire University.
Advisory Updates...
Our goal continues to be that every student walks across the stage at graduation with a pathway for the future.
Students are working on their last lessons in Xello. The grade-level topics are Study Skills and Habits, Program Prospects, Work/Life Balance, and Career Path Choices. Seniors are presenting their Senior Portfolios as part of their graduation requirements in their advisories.
Testing Update...
Spring Testing Update: We're thrilled to share that our recent spring PSAT10 and SAT testing session was a success! Students showed remarkable dedication and focus during the exam, and we're proud of their hard work. Looking ahead, we have the New Hampshire Statewide Assessment System (NHSAS) Science testing scheduled for May 1st and 2nd for all juniors. This assessment is a valuable opportunity for students to demonstrate their scientific knowledge and skills. We encourage all students to prepare diligently and approach the upcoming tests with confidence. Thank you for your continued support in helping our students excel academically!
National Honor Society Chooses Love
NHS recently did a very successful Choose Love:Cup of Kindness event, where students had to write something nice about someone or something else. They would then receive a free cup of hot chocolate. NHS was able to service almost 400 students during this event! We then posted up some of the comments on our NHS Bulletin Board for the whole school to see. NHS has been trying to promote kindness and school spirit, and our students were very passionate about this event.
Cinderella!
We had a very successful and entertaining March production of Cinderella. Over 2000 people saw the show! Thank you to the parent volunteers, community sponsors, and dedicated supporters of our theater program.
Hockey makes it to the State Championship
After a long drought with our last appearance being in 2015, our team played in some very tough playoff games to advance to the state championship.
Jamie Ferullo named Coach of the Year
Coach Ferullo was named the Division 2 Hockey Coach of the Year by his peers. Last year, the program did not qualify for the playoffs. A year later, we are playing in the State Championship game.
Ryan Dube named to First Team for Hockey
Ryan was voted by the Hockey Coaches Association as an All State first team selection. This is quite an honor for our Junior.
