It's been a super first week of the Summer Term as the children have returned to school well-rested, ready to learn and settled. Choosing special certificates today must have been a real challenge for our teaching team with so much to celebrate.

We've also had our learning journey launch events in some classes, with the rest scheduled for next week or so. I'll be publishing the learning journeys on the website like I usually do, when they're finalised. These give you an overview of what's being covered in your child's class.

Thank you also to the parents who have called and caught me for a chat about next academic year. We find out on Tuesday our initial numbers for Reception in September, so i'll update you all further if there's any changes to the plan.

Team ApRo have been working incredibly hard to upgrade our Library and we're having a special launch event on 17th April from 2:30pm until 4pm. The Scholastic Book Fair will be in school, bring over 200 titles. All books will be on a 3 for 2 offer, so an ideal opportunity to add to your home library. Every book purchased means new books for our school library too!

Talk is really important for all learners in school and we know that our children are exposed to lots of exciting learning opportunities, both at home and at school. To help develop speaking and listening skills and knowledge of the wider world, we're introducing Car Convos! A topic that we share in the newsletter on a Friday, that families can discuss in the car on their travels. We'll then pick this up after the weekend.

This week in school, we've been talking about Fundamental British Values and why they are so important.

A polite reminder that we have children in school who have severe nut allergies. Please ensure that you do not bring nuts on to the school site or include them in packed lunches.
