BELONG ~ BELIEVE ~ ACHIEVE
Hello Wildcat Students, Staff, and Families!
I am excited to announce that Sullivan Middle School, along with ALL of the Bonsall Unified Schools has been selected again for the honor of being a Purple Star School.
The Purple Star Award from the State of California recognizes schools that provide outstanding support to military-connected students and families. Of the over 10,000 schools in California, only 43 have been selected for this honor.
All five Bonsall Unified School District schools have been identified as Purple Star Award-winning schools.
- Bonsall West Elementary School
- Bonsall Elementary School
- Vivian Banks Charter School
- Sullivan Middle School
- Bonsall High School
Each school will be recognized in a ceremony on Thursday, April 4th at 5:30 p.m. at Bonsall West Elementary School. You are cordially invited. We will have guests from the Bonsall and Oceanside Communities, the California Department of Education, the San Diego County Office of Education, and many military branches.
Please RSVP by Monday, April 1, 2024, using the link in the graphic or by clicking here: RSVP for Purple Star Event
I hope you will join us!

Superintendent
MATH:
Attention Parents: Math Update
Mrs. Pollard and Mr. Pipe will be covering Mrs. Toscano's class while she is out on maternity leave. Many of the students are familiar with both of these teachers because they taught in the math class last year and are our permanent guest teachers at Sullivan. Mr. Pipe is also our Cross Country and Soccer coach!
New structuring of Math:
All of the math teachers have emailed out information about the interactive notebooks to help keep our Wildcats more organized and to help our parents know what they are learning so you, as parents, can help them at home. We are also preparing our Wildcats for the upcoming state test, which is approximately 7 weeks from now. Please check out the math notebooks and please check your student's planner for homework and classwork.
ATTENTION FAMILIES:
We have seen an increase in students not being picked up in a timely manner after school. Per the student handbook, "All SMS students must leave campus at the end of the school day unless involved in school-sanctioned activity after hours. Loitering after hours on school grounds is not permitted, and students will be disciplined if this rule is not followed. Campus supervision is provided 20 minutes before and after school. Students must leave within 20 minutes of dismissal". It is our desire that all students get home promptly and safely after school. If you are in need of assistance, SMS does provide an after school program that you may register for on 6Crickets to provide extended care. Thank you for your help and support to ensure all students are picked up and get home safely.
Sullivan parents are vital partners in our school community. We have many opportunities for our parents to be involved at SMS and help provide feedback to inform our programs. Be sure to watch announcements for the School Site Council, English Language Advisory committee, the Native Learner Advisory Committee, and our PTO meetings.
We are Wildcats! Have a great week!
