Spring is the time of the school year when there seems to be an increase in behaviors in the classroom and on the playground. Please take some time to remind your child/children about continuing to follow the school behavior expectations, PAWS:

CAASPP testing will begin this week for our 3rd-6th grade students. This week, students will be tested on English Language Arts. During the week of April 29, students will be tested on Math. During the week of May 6, 5th-grade students will be tested in Science.

Here are a few things you can do to help your child get ready for testing:

• Make sure your child gets a good night’s sleep

• Provide a nutritious breakfast

• Make sure that your child arrives to school on time

We have a lot of coats, sweatshirts, and water bottles in our lost and found. Items will be in Monty Lane from Thursday, April 25 through Friday, April 26 at 6 pm. All unclaimed items will be donated.

Applications for Fall Before and After School Care for elementary students and Summer Camp (for incoming TK-6) are now available. Please see fliers for more information:

Starting in August, the kindergarten schedule will be extended and will be similar to 1st-3rd grades. The district Full Day Kindergarten Committee is currently working on details in regards to the new schedule/program and you can find more information about it using this link. Scroll down the agenda on the right and click on Section I, item # 3.

Save the date for the last Dine Out of the school year at Togo's/Baskin Robbins in La Crescenta on May 1st! They will donate 20% of the proceeds (restaurant and voucher purchases) to Monte Vista. Please see attached flier.

Vouchers will be available for purchase. Sandwich vouchers are $9, and ice cream vouchers are $5. These are perfect as end-of-season team/club treats or thank you gifts.

Grab the whole family and come join us for our 2024 STEM Night! Like last year, this year we will be bringing more experiments and demonstrations to Monte Vista! There will be multiple booths to explore where you can learn STEM concepts, see some exciting demonstrations, and even do your own experiments! A raffle will be held at the end of the night with STEM related prizes.
