4th Grade Supply Drop Off and Info
Important Information
Here is some important information before we head back.
School Supplies
The first thing we need to address are the large bulk communal supplies that were a part of your child's school supply list. Click Here to view the Bulk Supply List. We will be hosting a bulk supply drop-off on Friday, September 4th from 9:15 am - 9:45 am in the bus loop. This drop is not for individual supplies. If you cannot make the drop off please let us know and we will arrange a different time before September 8th. We are hosting the drop off so your child does not need to lug extra supplies on the first day back to school.
Agenda
As we move to face-to-face learning, an agenda will be crucial for communication between school and home. This ensures the children are being responsible with their reading and math homework and communicating what they need to complete if they did not finish their work at school. An adult in the home will sign the agenda each night and your student will earn decision dollars at school.
Roald Dahl Books and Whiteboards
All students should return back to school with the Roald Dahl book we have been reading, their whiteboard, and their individual supplies from the school supply list. It is essential that all students have their own supplies as we will not be sharing pencils, pens, markers, etc. Click Here for the individual supplies your child should already have.
Masks and Cleaning Supplies
We appreciate all of your attention to hygiene and staying on top of temperature taking at home before sending students to school. Along with that, please send your student with three clean masks in a ziplock bag each day so they stay dry and clean throughout the day. This is very important as we all want to stay at school when we return. With that being said, any and all cleaning products and paper towel donations are greatly appreciated.
What To Expect When We Return
Here’s what you can expect to see when we return to in person learning:
At Home: Parents are expected to complete the daily health screening. Please ensure your student(s) bring 3 (appropriate) face coverings, water bottle, and personal hand sanitizer. You may also want to read and review the CCUSD Returning with Excellence Logistics Plan.
Face Coverings: As per Maricopa County Department of Public Health (MCDPH) requirements and CCUSD Governing Board policy, students will be expected to wear face masks when on campus. Face masks should be cloth or paper and fit snugly around the nose and mouth. Plastic face shields will not be an allowable alternative for a face mask.
Arrival: Students may report to campus between 8:40 and 8:55. Students will report directly to breakfast if they eat breakfast at school or their classroom upon arrival to campus - there will not be a school-wide morning recess. Our instructional day begins at 9:00 and students are expected to be in their classrooms when the bell rings.
In Class: Physical distancing of 6 feet is not feasible in classrooms, and students will wear face masks at all times in the classroom environment. Students’ personal materials should not be shared. Classrooms will be sanitized daily. Classrooms will be arranged to benefit the developmental needs of students while keeping physical health and safety a priority. When possible, students will be facing forward. We will teach, reinforce, and promote frequent hand-washing throughout the school day.
Specials: Students will be expected to wash or sanitize their hands before and after specials classes. Shared materials will be limited to the largest extent possible and cleaned regularly. Students will attend specials classes with their homeroom cohort (this is a change for fifth and sixth grade).
Transitions: We are doing everything feasible to stagger transitions to limit crowding in the hallways. Stairwells and many walkways are marked as one-way passageways and students will transition in orderly lines with their teachers.
Lunch: We will expect students to wash/sanitize their hands before eating lunch and will sit at tables by assigned homeroom (this is not new for most grade levels), facing in the same direction. Students will be spaced at lunch tables to allow for greater physical distancing (although 6 feet is not likely). Students are expected to wear face masks while moving throughout the lunch room, but may remove them while seated at the lunch tables. Time between lunch periods has been increased to allow for improved cleaning and sanitizing practices between each lunch period.
Recess: Recess equipment will be sanitized daily. Recess will be scheduled for one grade level at a time and classrooms will have an assigned zone on the playground. The playground zone will rotate to ensure that students are able to play a variety of games at recess. Please note that students will play with their classroom peers at recess and will not be interacting with friends from other classrooms at this time. In accordance with guidance from MCDPH, students will be allowed to remove their face masks in designated areas only.
Dismissal: Students will be dismissed on a staggered schedule, based on their dismissal routine. For example, bus riders will be released at 3:25 and walkers dismissed at 3:30. Parent walk-up will not be a dismissal location this year as we cannot maintain physical distancing of parents or students during this transition. See the attached dismissal form and indicate how your student will be dismissed from school so that our school staff can ensure that we get each student home safely. Please fill out this form by Wednesday afternoon at 4:00. If your child will require bus services, please check the Infinite Campus Parent Portal for your child’s bus assignment and bus stop location. We will send more details for dismissal on Friday, but if you have a bus rider, you should know the bus number and route by the end of today. If this information is not available in your portal, please contact the transportation department at 480-575-2080.
Medication: Once we return to the physical building, our health office must have a consent form to administer medication at school. Please fill out and print the form below and bring it into the health office with any medication between 8:00-4:00. Any prescription medication must be in its original container. https://www.ccusd93.org/cms/lib/AZ02204140/Centricity/Domain/2079/Medication%20Administration%20Form%203-3-2017.pdf
