Dear parents and carers.
We have had a great week in school, full of exciting learning. Our new chrome books have been well used this week, with Luther King class using them to create branching databases, Seacole creating some great digital music, and Barnardo doing some online maths activities. Elsewhere, there has been some great tennis being played on the playground, Rashford class have created some lovely 'bog babies' and Attenborough class have spent time in the sunshine investigating minibeasts.
Yesterday, some of our worship leaders met with the young leaders from the other church schools in our MAT to talk about what they do in their roles. It was a lovely opportunity for them to hear from other children and to share their ideas. We have so many children in our school who are keen to be leaders, and I am so proud of children for putting themselves forward to make a difference, even when they might find it takes them out of their comfort zone.
Our next Forest Schools week is not too far away, and as you know we have been working to develop our Forest School site. We were delighted to have been approached a few weeks ago by the Transpennine Route Upgrade, TRU East Alliance, who are going to support our work with this. My Symes and I met with them today to discuss our hopes for the site, and they are keen to do as much as they can to transform the area, so that it has everything we would like to provide children with to create a fantastic outdoor space. This is going to make a big difference to the school for many years to come, so we are hugely grateful for their support. The engineer we met with today is now busy putting together a design for the site, and we will share this when we have it.
Have a lovely weekend.

Message from Head Pupils
This week has been a pretty quiet week. On Thursday afternoon, pupils from year 5 and 6 travelled to Brayton Primary School to meet with children from other primary schools. They discussed how they could be effective worship leaders in their schools and brainstormed ideas of how to make their worship more interactive. Mrs Mawson was extremely impressed with how well the children represented the school.
Head pupil awards go to Evie (Y2) and Sophie (Y3)
Freddie & Ella
