Special Thank You to Our Nutrition Staff
Celebrate Nebraska's School Nutrition Heroes with Nebraska SNAC! From March 6 - 20, join us in honoring the dedicated school nutrition staff who ensure Nebraska children receive healthy school meals every day. Share your words of appreciation through our online form and we will highlight these heroes on social media leading up to National School Lunch Hero Day on May 3rd! Plus, this year's heroes will receive a special letter and swag as a token of our appreciation. Let's thank these everyday heroes who nourish our communities!

Kindergarten Learning Update:
Vowels and consonants are the highlight in Kindergarten right now as we are practicing building words to read and write. We keep learning new high-frequency words, so be sure to keep practicing these at home. Kindergarteners have also been working on writing sentences. Shapes, shapes, and more shapes are what we have been doing in math! We can tell you quite a lot about 2D and 3D shapes. Next up in math is measurement! We are learning about all things weather-related in reading!
We had an amazing time visiting the dentist and celebrating Dr. Seuss during Read Across America Week.
First Grade
In Math, 1st grade just finished up our chapter learning all about charts and graphs. We are now going to move on to telling time. In Reading, we are reading a story about the life cycle of an apple tree and will be reading a story about how plants grow.
We had a great week celebrating all things Dr. Seuss. We dressed up each day and finished out the week with community readers and a trip to the theatre to watch Horton. Thanks to all who made that a great time!! We are super excited to have some spring days coming our way!!
Third Grade
We have been working hard on multi-digit addition and subtraction as well as continuing to learn multiplication facts! Our goal is to master our multiplication facts! In reading class, we have read several books that have taught us about main idea, inferences, point of view and character traits. We continue to work in RGR where we practice our phonics as well. Espark is another tool that we are using to help practice our reading standards too!
We had a great time learning more about Dr. Suess during Read Across America week and thank the Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade teachers for allowing the third grade to be part of the celebration and attend a movie at the theatre. And a HUGE thanks to the Kimball HELPS for supplying treats as well as the community members who read to the kids!
Fourth Grade
Fourth grade writing students have been doing great things with grammar! They have almost completed the grammar lessons for the year and have learned so much! They can now identify every part of speech in a sentence like this:
The unusually furry cat ate his food.
