Around the School Spotlight
We ended the week with two incredible Talent Shows and Mrs. Mitchell as a Baby on a Bike! Congratulations to all of our students who performed. That takes a lot of courage and the acts were outstanding. We have a lot of talented kids here at Hawks View! And a huge thank you to our PAC volunteers who organized the entire show - from auditions, to rehearsals to the main performance…it took a lot of hours and we are grateful for your commitment to our school!
Mrs. Mitchell as a Baby was a Fun Run Prize that students voted on in the Fall! They enjoyed seeing “Baby Mitchell” around the building. She was a princess last year and Baby this year; I wonder what we’ll see next year?!
Parent Input for Student Placement
Each Spring, we give parents an opportunity for input regarding their child’s placement for the next school year. This is not a place to request teachers, as teacher assignments aren’t finalized at this point. As your child’s caregiver, you provide valuable information and insight and we’ll take your thoughts into consideration. We do our best to create balanced classes and cannot accommodate every request that is asked of us. With about 500 students, you can imagine placement is a very long, thoughtful process. The input form will be available until Sunday, May 12th.
Conference Reminder
Conferences are a great opportunity to connect with your child’s teacher and learn about their progress so far this year as well as areas for growth. Teachers sent home a sign-up on April 19th via email. May 9th and 10th are designated for conferences. While we understand families head out of town or are unable to attend for various reasons, please know teachers are not expected to conference at another time.
STEM Earth Day Projects - Update
Thank you to everyone that brought in items for our Earth Day projects. We have everything we need, with the exception of jar lids and bottle caps. If you would like to send in jar lids or bottle caps only, please be sure they are clean and dry.
Thank you again for your support.
~Mrs. Bretsch
New App for Student Transportation: My Ride K-12
This spring, the Ride 360 app that our district uses to provide families with student transportation information will be replaced by a new app called My Ride K-12. This new app can be downloaded now in the Apple and Android app stores at the links below.
The Ride360 app will be discontinued during the month of May. In order to continue receiving up-to-date information about your student's bus transportation, you will need to download the My Ride K-12 app as soon as possible.
Once you have downloaded the new My Ride K-12 app, you will use your existing Ride360 log-in credentials to access the new app. No further sign-up is needed - all of your student's information, including route, will automatically transfer over to the new app!
For questions or assistance with the new My Ride K-12 app, please contact our Transportation Department at 503-825-5900 or by email at transport@sherwood.k12.or.us
