WOLF NOTES
Week of March 11-15

>>Week of March 11-15, 2024<<
Note from Admin
Wolf Families,
Wow the year is flying by - Next week is Spring Break! Friday we will have our 3rd annual Green Day to celebrate completing the 3rd nine weeks. Your student may wear as much green as wanted.
There are a ton of illnesses going around right now. Please help your family stay healthy - remind them to wash their hands often throughout the day, drink lots of water, eat fruits and vegetables and make sure everyone is getting a good night's sleep.
Extra change? Send it with your student to drop in their grade level bucket. Winning grade level will receive a popsicle party. All proceeds will go towards our 5th grade celebration.
Don't feel like cooking? Swing by the Chick-fil-A today on 2nd and Bryant and tell them you are with Washington Irving. Yummy.
As field trips are underway, thank you for practicing the life principle of flexibility. We were excited to announce field trips are open to all families who can attend. We appreciate those who are able to join on your student's field trip. This year we have new Chaperone Guidelines that must be returned if you want to be a Chaperone. Then, you just have to sign in to the kiosk a week before the event and choose your grade level event. A huge thank you as we continue to organize, create a safe plan, and fun field trip experience!!! Please let us know if you have any questions on the process.
Our next big event is just around the corner. Spin Into Spring! See the information below to sign up. We cannot wait to see you there!
Until then, enjoy your spring break. Have a wonderful time creating memories with your loved ones. Take time to notice everything blooming, it is a beautiful time of year - ask your kiddos to observe the changes happening in their outdoor environment all around them.
Wishing you well,
Angie Zeiler and Amanda Lonberg

Spin Into Spring 2024
Hello, WI parents!
We've finalized the basket themes for the Spin Into Spring Silent Auction! If you are new to Washington Irving, Spin Into Spring is our major Spring Fundraiser.
Previously, themes were assigned to classes. This year, we are opening the themes to anyone who is
interested! We also have Amazon Wishlists for every basket (except Local Goods). These can be found on our LinkTree (linktr.ee/wipto). Items are collected and used to create baskets that are auctioned or raffled at the event on April 5th. The funds raised at Spin Into Spring support hands on learning experiences like field trips, items for the classroom, and grants for our teaching teams to fund new technology and learning programs that help our students learn, problem solve and apply their knowledge. Items purchased from the Amazon Wishlists will be shipped directly to the school. Donations not purchased from the Amazon Wishlists should be given to your child's teacher with a note stating the fair market value of the item. This allows us to put an accurate value on the baskets. If you are sending a gift card, please place it in a sealed envelope labeled "PTO Spin Into Spring" with the value and class theme written on the front. All items are due March 27, 2024.
Please note that while we try our best to keep the items for each theme together, there may be a situation where we need to move it to another basket. The goal behind this is to maximize the profit potential for our school.
Have any baskets, tissue paper, or cellophane you would like to donate? We would put it to good
use!
Of course, all donations are optional but very much appreciated and helpful in raising money for our
wonderful school, teachers and students.
Email any questions to Kelsey Schwartz at wiptofamilyevents@gmail.com.
Thank you so much and happy shopping!

SIGN UPs with PTO
This year's Treat Squad (formerly known as Cookie Phantom) is an easy way to volunteer and make an impact at your child's school. Treats can be anything: a cookie, a coffee, a gift card - whatever you want! It's a small gesture to let the women and men who love on our kids every day know they are appreciated. Please consider signing up and making someone's day.
PALs is Washington Irving's newest program, expanded from last year, to give you more opportunities to volunteer inside the school. Below is our interest survey and volunteer sign-ups

Holiday Celebrations Sign Up- This year, each child will have an opportunity to have ONE parent/representative for ONE celebration this school year. You will be able to select which celebration you would like to attend in this Google Form

NEW Breakfast & Lunch Info
SchoolCafe is now available!
You can now access student meal accounts and apply for free and reduced-price meal benefits. Menus and nutritional information will also be coming soon!
To get started, you'll need your child's Student ID# in order to create/manage the account and/or complete an online meal application.
- Your student's school ID# is generally known by your North student. If you had a previous MyPaymentsPlus account, you should have received an email on July 7th with your student's ID number listed.
- Your unused balance from last year will roll over to your new account once you make your parent/guardian account and add your student(s).
- New features include the ability to restrict various types of a la carte purchases as well as customize the frequency of low-balance alerts.
- You can also donate or request a refund of unused funds through the program as well.
Check it out here: www.schoolcafe.com/Edmond
Sincerely, Child Nutrition Department
LUNCH MENU
Friendly Reminders
- We ask that parents do not come in to check out their student after 3:00 p.m. During this time we are preparing for dismissal and our secretaries are getting messages to our teachers about dismissal changes. It makes it very difficult to prepare for dismissal if families come in to check out during this busy time. If it is after 3:00, we are happy to get your student to you as soon as possible. This may be after dismissal is over, so we will ask you to wait patiently.
- Party Invitations: Birthday/Personal party invitations cannot be distributed at school.
- Deliveries: Flowers and/or balloon arrangements, candy and other gifts will not be delivered to students and cannot go home on buses. These deliveries should be made to student’s homes.
- Student Birthdays: Student birthdays will be recognized at each school according to site administrative decisions. All students will be recognized equally (i.e. announcements, birthday pencil/sticker, special celebration cake/cookie provided by the school, etc.). Individual birthdays will not be celebrated with parents/guardians supplying snacks/treats at school.
- Washington Irving celebrates all of our birthdays monthly with a special celebration where all birthday students come to the cafeteria one day the last week of the month for a fun cookie, birthday pencil, and bracelet.
