CREATE YOUR OWN ESTI-MYSTERY!!
Good afternoon and Happy Wednesday Wild Rose!
To prepare for our last month of Esti-Mystery, I have put together an OPTIONAL project for Wild Rose students to complete where they will be able to create their own math mystery. What better way to encourage belonging in our Wild Rose math community than to feature the work of our very own Wild Rose mathematicians, on our Esti-Mystery board. =)
In your mailboxes, you will find the direction sheet, student template and a hundred chart for students to grab if they're interested in participating. There are 10 copies in your mailbox and extra copies will be available in the ALC. The direction sheet explains the task and the student template is what students will need to fill out and turn in. Students will think of a collection they own (LOL dolls, legos, hot wheels cars, etc.), count their collection and snap a picture of it. They will then need to create clues to help narrow down the possible answer choices. I have included some math vocabulary to help students on the direction sheet. If students prefer, they can create an image on the computer or find a free clipart image as well.
Students may print out their completed template and picture or send the completed template and digital copy of their image via email. I will have a bin in the ALC for submissions or they can email them directly to me. All submissions should be completed and turned in by Friday, May 3rd. Two winners will be chosen and put on display by Friday, May 10th. I will plan to feature more of these submissions next school year.
I hope students have fun sharing their collections and creating their own Esti-Mystery! Please let me know if you have any questions.
Links to all of the project materials are below (they are also available on the Wild Rose schoology page as well)
