Welcome back from Spring Break! I cannot believe we are in the final stretch of the school year. Even though we are focused on finishing the year strong, we are planning for next year! Registration for the 2024-2025 school year is OPEN! Please register you students as soon as possible so we can allocate sections and teachers. This is most important for Kindergarten and Preschool! It can make the difference between having 2 large classes or 3 smaller classes! But we need to have the numbers to plan for it. If we don't get the numbers before the end of the school year, we plan for two sections and may need to shuffle students after the start of the year due to late registrations. I would hate to have to move students if we add a late section. And unfortunately the latest registrants will be the ones to move. Don't let that be your student! Register today!
Registration can be done through Skyward here: LINK. If you have questions, please call the office and we can assist you. Those that are fully registered by May 1st will receive a FREE T-SHIRT! NO SCHOOL FEES!
Monday our school is planning to allow students to safely view the Solar Eclipse. Mrs. Williams, our STEM teacher, has been planning this learning experience for students since the fall. We are prepared with safety glasses for all and students will be decorating additional shields that attach to the glasses for extra protection. I do want to stress however, that if students are not compliant with keeping their solar glasses on when necessary, they will be escorted back inside and unable to view the eclipse. Please discuss how important this protective eyewear is for this phenomenon!
Both you students (and staff!) are excited for this rare event in nature. If you have any questions, please see the Solar Eclipse letter below and complete to opt out form if you would prefer your student complete an alternate activity.

Dear Salt Creek Primary Families,

Students from both SC and SMS were able to hear from award winning author and illustrator Don Tate this week. Thank you to our school library aides, Mrs. Ross (SC) and Mrs. Krull (SMS), for organizing this event for our students! Pictured is art teacher, Mrs. Zastrow, who created a welcome banner for Mr. Tate highlighting one of his books, "Whoosh."
Overdue Breakfast/ Lunch Balances
Don't forget to check and pay any overdue lunch balances. You can check balances and pay on your parent Skyward account. You can also send cash or check payment to school with your child in a marked envelope with name and what payment is for. The office will then account for the cash or check payment on your student's Skyward.
Attention Parents - School doors open at 7:40 am. There is no staff supervision prior to this time. Classes start at 7:50 am.
Students who come in late find it harder to establish a good morning routine at school. Teachers are beginning instruction and a late student is missing out. Thank you for your assistance in making sure your students arrive to school on time!
A New Way to Pay Fees in Skyward
NO MORE E-PAY! We have rolled out a new way to pay for lunches, school fees and activity fees for students. You can sign up here https://saltcreek48.revtrak.net/. Or you can go to your parent portal in skyward, click on the fee payment tile, then in the far right hand top corner click on the "make online payments" button. This will take you to Revtrak. Make sure to sign up before you try to make payment. Once you can sign in, click the Make a Payment button in the middle of the page. This new service will streamline the payments so you can make a payment or set up recurring payments. This is directly connected to Skyward so you see the money immediately go to your child's account. If you have any questions please email or call your school office.
Preschool Payments: Once in Revtrak you will see in the upper right area an arrow next to SHOP. Click the arrow and pick Preschool in order for you to complete your payment. If you have any questions please email or call the Salt Creek school office.

Communication For When Your Child Is Absent
Please make sure to notify Angie Holden at Salt Creek Primary if your child will be absent, arriving late, or being dismissed early. It is helpful to contact your child's teacher in these matters as well, but it is very important to contact the office! If you have any doctor's notes, please send those to our health office staff.
