Good Morning OES families!
We had an amazing turnout for our Mathematical Evening! We served 16 pies, and had about 120 people in attendance. Family members, friends, OES staff, and students engaged in math games and activities with lots of smiles and laughter! Who knew math could be fun?
Please mark your calendars for April 23rd. We are currently planning another fun filled family event for that evening. More information will be sent home as we finalize the plans.
On Tuesday the middle school students will begin a series of visits from Umbrella. The focus of these sessions will be to inform and educate students about alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs. If you have questions concerning these presentations please reach out to Ms. Lacroix at llacroix@ocsu.org or through the main office.
On Wednesday the 4th graders will be visiting North Country Career Center for a STEM Fair. Students will depart from the school at 11:00 and return about 2:00.
Effective Monday, the bus stop for the Lake Region students near the end of Marston Avenue has been moved to OES school grounds. These students will wait for the bus near the crosswalk, by the memorial bench. This change is to help ensure the safety of our high school students.
The end of the second trimester is March 21st. Report cards are scheduled to go home on Friday the 29th. Please read the updated Grading and Reporting document below.
Next week, we will begin VTCAP testing. Our plan is to have all of these test sessions and make-ups completed by April 11th. As a reminder students in grades 3-8 will be assessed in mathematics and language arts. In addition, students in grades 5 & 8 will also be assessed in science. If you have questions regarding these assessments please reach out to me.
The Annual Meeting for Lake Region Union High School is on Wednesday (April 20th) at 7:00 at the high school. (See the informational flyer below)
Our PTCA is hosting a Craft Show on Saturday from 10:00 - 2:00. (See the informational flyer below)
As always, please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
