Superintendent Chat

No School Reminder
No student attendance on Wednesday, April 10, 2024.
Registration
Returning student registration for the 2024-2025 school year will open on Monday, April 15. All returning families will receive an email with instructions and login credentials sometime that morning. If you do not see the email, please check your spam folder. If you still cannot locate your registration login information, please contact Dave Huber at huber@ogschool.org. We ask that all families complete the online registration as soon as possible, as this helps us quite a bit with the scheduling process.
Purple Up Day
IAR Testing
The Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR), a state-mandated assessment for 3rd through 8th-grade students, will take place this week on April 11, 12, and 16 and makeup testing will be on April 17-19.
Students will need working headphones and a charged iPad/laptop
Students may not have cell phones, Apple watches, etc. during the testing periods
Students should eat a good breakfast and have a good night’s sleep

Each 5th through 7th grade student has the opportunity to choose their preferred rotations classes for the coming year. Students will make their selections during rotations class this week. Click the links below to learn more.

Spanish Storytelling
Attention all 2nd-5th grade parents: Don't forget to sign up for Señora Mann's and Señora Pittam's Spanish storytelling experience. Students learn the story with various activities to show comprehension. For more information and to sign up please click here.

Stepping Up to 6th Grade is taking place Wednesday, April 17, at 6:30 pm. 5th Grade parents and students are invited to learn more about middle school. Sign up here.
Earth Day is this month. Show your OGS pride and join us on Saturday, April 20 between 10-11:30 am to clean up the school grounds. We’ll also “chalk the walk” with Earth-friendly messages.
6th and 7th Grade Social will be at SkyZone on Thursday, April 25, 1-2:30 pm. We will have the place to ourselves and allow up to 200 students. An adult must stay to supervise, but one adult can oversee a group of students. Sign-up and waiver are available here! Contact Andrea with any questions.

Kona Ice Truck is returning to Oak Grove on May 23. We are looking for volunteers to help us oversee the event. Sign up to volunteer here.
Oak Grove Summer Camp
Summer Camp classes will be offered at Oak Grove by several OG teachers in June and July. Go to the RevTrak online store and select Student Summer Camps to register. The deadline for registration is April 30.
