Traver Talk
We are excited to provide you with an update on the academic progress and attendance policies at our school as we approach the end of the semester.
Academic Update
Please see the chart to the right for a breakdown of grades as they stand in the semester. Of all grades recorded for CHS students we have approximately 60% A or B, 25% C or D and 15% E. We are proud of the hard work and dedication our students have shown in achieving their academic goals. If your student is looking for support they can visit teachers for help in Seminar on Tuesdays or Thursdays, go to after school tutoring Monday-Thursday from 2:30-3:30 or log on to Varsity Tutors for one on one help with any of their coursework by logging in with Google.
Attendance Update
Students will receive an update on their attendance standing this Tuesday. It is our policy that students with 10 or more absences in any one class must earn a minimum of 78% on the final exam to receive credit for the course.
Students facing extenuating circumstances related to their absences may submit an appeal. Senior appeal forms for exams are due by Friday 5/3, and underclassmen appeal forms will be available by 5/30.
Additionally, students who are more than 5 minutes late to class will be marked as LT (late tardy), and those who leave early will accumulate RE coding (released early) as a half absence. We appreciate your partnership in reinforcing the importance of daily attendance and punctuality with your child. These habits are essential life skills that will benefit them beyond high school.
Thank you for your continued support. Together, we can empower our high schoolers to develop the habits and mindset needed for success.
