Assistant Headteacher - Mrs S Humphreys
Dear Parents & Carers,
Happy Half Term!
I would like to take a moment to say thank you for your unrelenting support and understanding throughout the course of this half term.
As we enter the Easter break there are so many aspects of our school that I have been particularly proud of! The first that comes to mind however is the manners that the children of Carleton Park display, day in, day out!
The modelling of manners is everyone's responsibility, from parents and carers to school staff, to our fantastic pupil leaders throughout school. This week we have had a number of visitors to the school for various reasons... ALL of which commented on the exemplary manners our children display.
I am also extremely impressed with our children's commitment to reading. The launch of accelerated reader earlier in the year is having a transformational impact on reading across school - in particular KS2!
Our children understand the importance of regular reading and the doors being a fluent reader can open up for them!
It has been brilliant to see the number of enrichment opportunities pupils have received this term, from Marrick Priory residential visits to farm visits to the York Chocolate trip last week. At Carleton Park we understand the impact this element of personal development can have on every child and we will continue to strive to ensure we have future opportunities in the Summer Term!
Next term our Year 6 children will be preparing for their Year 6 National Assessments. They will do this with the support and backing of our entire school community, the children care because we as a school community care too.
I am very proud to represent our fantastic school and with your continued support we will make the final term of the year one to remember!
Have a great Easter.
Best Regards,
Mr Ayre
