Wastewater Treatment Plant Construction Update
The upgrades to the Wastewater Treatment Plant are scheduled to start coming on line in the next couple of months.
The City was awarded 13.8 million dollars by the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality to improve its wastewater collection system. We will start by contracting out the cleaning and filming of some of the sewer lines around town to prepare for an upcoming pipeline rehabilitation project. We have worked with our engineers to determine the areas that need pipeline replacements and certain pump stations in need of rehabilitation. The work will occur over the next two years, we will provide updates to the community as they develop.

Message from Public Works Director Larry Bybee
Mark your calendars! Gooding Fun Day, sponsored by Glanbia Nutritionals, will be held on Friday May 31st. We will be providing more details next month.
We are in hopes the weather will allow for the Tree & Brush Yard to open the first part of April. Although the chipper is in need of some repair and we still have some of last year's brush to process, we may need to close a few days to finish the work.
Message from Mayor Diane Houser
Hello Gooding,
I want to start off my newsletter submission with some fantastic news. The City of Gooding has received a TAP Grant. The TAP Grant will be used for new sidewalks on Main Street from Highway 26/46 to 10th Avenue. The sidewalks will be on both sides of Main Street. We will be working with Idaho Transportation Department on this project. We will also be working with ITD on the installation of a street light at the North Valley Academy Charter School and the State School crosswalks. We hope this will help our citizens and school kids be able to cross the street without worrying about being hit by a car. This project will begin in 2026.
It looks like spring may be around the corner. People are planting their seedlings for their vegetable plants and flowers. It is so nice when you're walking or driving around town to see the yards that are cleaned and have flowers. It's nice to see citizens take pride in their property.
The City Tree & Brush Yard should be opening in April. We are not sure of the exact date yet, but we will keep you informed.
The City has been looking into purchasing new Christmas decorations to replace some of its older ones along Main Street. We have found some of our older decorations that date back 40 or 50 years ago that we would love to get restored. If you are an individual or a business that would like to help fund or even work on refurbishing some of these classics, please contact me or City Hall.
Don't forget to set your clocks ahead on March 10th. We go forward into daylight savings time. March 17th is St. Patrick's Day and March 31st is Easter Sunday.
Have a great March and Happy Easter!
Diane Houser, Mayor
🚒 Message from Fire Chief Steven Bishop
Did you know that closing doors as you exit or as you sleep can keep a fire from spreading? A closed door may slow the spread of smoke, heat, and fire-protecting your home and family. Consider the facts.
