Tea with Mr. G. Follow Up
The focus for Tea with Mr. G. today was our bathroom policy. As I wrote in an email earlier this week, I wanted to share more about our one-at-a-time bathroom policy and invite families into the conversation. I heard from staff, who support the system as it stands, and from families, both via email and in person, who had different opinions on the policy. What I heard clearly from the families who came to today's Tea was that it's worth rethinking our policy for our youngest learners, who are still learning how and when to use the toilet. Expect more to come as we take in all this information and plan next steps!
Auction Update
The Give to Grow Irvington School Auction is one week away! Buy your tickets! Have a last minute donation or party to submit? Please get those in asap, as the online auction goes live on Monday. We will send all the details about it then.
Auction Art Show! Come see all of the amazing auction classroom art projects that your student helped create before and after school on Monday under the covered area. Thank you to the parent volunteers who helped make them happen!
PTA Meeting Special Guest
The Irvington PTA is thrilled to announce we will be hosting a Q&A with School Board Member Michelle DePass on Monday, May 6, at 6pm. This event will take place during our regularly scheduled PTA meeting. Doors open and dinner served at 5:30. Free childcare will be provided. Don’t miss this amazing opportunity to engage with an influential board member and let her know how PPS actions affect our school and your student!
PTA Priorities Survey
The goal of Irvington’s PTA (Parent Teacher Association) is to make every student’s potential a reality. As PTA begins working on the 2024-25 school year budget, we want to hear from families about what areas are most important for PTA to support to reach that goal. We’re especially focused on community building, students’ sense of belonging, and supporting students’ academic success. We have created a PTA Priority Survey in order to collect the opinions of our community members.
All parents & caregivers are encouraged to complete this survey once - individually or as a household. A paper form was sent home last week, or it can be filled out online by clicking here. Please complete the survey by next Friday, April 26. Paper forms can be returned to the PTA box in the main office.
April Lunch Servers
The school cafeteria needs you! We’re short several lunch servers next week. Sign up here if you can help out!
Also, a note from Rie to all lunch helpers: Please remember that you must wear closed-toed shoes in the kitchen. Even when the weather's hot, it's a requirement for all school kitchens.
