Parents:

Our 2nd Nine Weeks mid-point progress reports will go home with every Haggard student tomorrow - Thursday, 11/14. We have changed our format a little to make things more convenient for everyone - students, parents, and teachers alike. Progress reports will look much like a report card, listing the grades for all 7 class periods on one piece of paper. They will be distributed during 6th period tomorrow afternoon, so please be sure to look for your child's progress report tomorrow evening.

Parents are always invited to log into Parent Portal to check grades at any time throughout the grading period. Teachers work to update grades every Monday so you can monitor your child's performance and progress in each class. Please congratulate the following Eagles for being selected to the 2019 All-Region Bands after auditions last week. Their concert was this past Saturday night at Plano Senior High. More than 2000 students auditioned so to win a place in the region bands is a great accomplishment. Congratulations to these GREAT Musicians and their very proud Directors, Mr. Fortenberry and Mrs. Altstatt... Way to Go, Eagles!!!

Neverland Awaits us in 7 days! Peter Pan officially opens next Wednesday, November 20th at 6:30 PM! The show dates run Wednesday through Friday. There are 2 different cast performances- An Upperclassmen or A cast of predominantly 8th grade actors who perform on Wednesday and Friday nights- the 20th and the 22nd. Then there is an Underclassmen or B cast made up of 6th and 7th graders who will perform on Thursday the 21st. This cast will also be doing a special performance for the 6th grade class during the day on Friday the 22nd. So A cast Wednesday and Friday, and B cast Thursday night. All performances will begin at 6:30 PM. Tickets are $5 for student and $10 for adults. You can get your tickets today on the theatre website at https://sites.google.com/Pisd.edu/haggardtheatre

Mia Honigbaum, 6th grade, won the PTA Reflections art contest for poetry. She was recognized last Monday at lunch and will be advancing to the district level competition. Congratulations, Mia!!!

Now that November is upon us and colder weather has most definitely arrived, please assist with keeping our Eagles warm and safe by remembering our building hours and student supervision times. Our east/cafeteria doors are opened for students to come into the building at 7:45 am and our west/front office doors are opened at 8:00 am each day. We do not have staff on duty to supervise students before those times. Likewise, our staff is here until 4:00 pm each afternoon to supervise students until their transportation arrives or they walk or bike home. Once our staff finishes duty at 4:00, all students should be off campus unless prior arrangements have been made for them to attend a tutorial or campus activity under a staff member's supervision. Many thanks for your assistance by observing these drop off/pick up times.

Attention 8th Graders and Families:

Parent and student information meetings for the Academy Programs of Plano will be hosted during the month of November and early December for incoming ninth graders (and their parents) considering attending one of the Academy Programs of Plano. Each academy program will host three information nights between November 5 and December 3. Meetings will be held at various times (follow the link). Online applications will open on November 22 and close December 18. Students will receive notice of placement on January 10 and student commitments must be received by January 17, 2020.
