Special Days We CELEBRATE at ECC #4 School!
Lawrence ECC Celebrates 100 Days!
On Friday, February 9th, 2024, Lawrence Early Childhood Center celebrated 100 days of learning!
What an incredible milestone! Our kindergarten students spent the day celebrating this achievement, while our dedicated staff acknowledged the growth, development, and progress of each of our early learners. Cheers to 100 days smarter!!
iRead Challenge Winners 2024
The iRead Challenge required the class to work on the program for 20 minutes a day, an average of 100 minutes per week. Classes that read 100 minutes a week earned a star and after earning five stars, classes earned a t-shirt! The children were so proud of their accomplishment…just look at their smiles!
Together, we can Achieve so much More!
Read Together, Talk Together, Play Together
Reading: The single most important thing that a parent can do to help their child acquire language, prepare their child for school, and instill life long love of learning in their child is to read to them. In addition to planting the language seed and preparing a child for school, reading aloud to a child creates a bond between the child and the individual who is reading to them.
Talking: “One of the most important ways to help children be prepared for school is simply talking with them frequently. The more words a child hears, the more prepared they are when they enter school." (Shrier, Michigan State University Extension)
Keep In Mind the 3 T’s:
1. Tune In by paying attention to what your child is communicating to you
2. Talk More with your child using descriptive words to build their vocabulary
3. Take Turns by encouraging your child to respond to your words and actions
"Play is the work of the child." - Maria Montessori
