Representing Hillrise
Recently 2nd grader, Alexander Zuniga, was invited to deliver the pledge at the last LCPS School Board work Session. He did a marvelous job representing Hillrise.
News:
Spring Fling: PTO and Staff look forward to hosting our annual Spring Fling with fun games, booths, and food aplenty. This year we will be adding a new component to the event. You and your child will have an opportunity to learn about the expectations of next year's grade level. Teachers will have flyers/pamphlets available with things you need to know to make next year not such a mystery. We are looking forward to seeing you all there!
Departmentalization: We are expanding our departmentalization model to 3rd Grade in SY 24-25. Students in grade 2 will be receiving a letter with more information on what this will look like. We have been departmentalized in grades 4 and 5 for the last several years. We have found tremendous benefits to students following this model and are encouraged to have our 3rd grade students get an opportunity to experience them as well.

Teacher Appreciation Week May 6-10
Teacher Appreciation Week is almost here. Let's let our teachers know just how much we value them and all of their efforts. We try and honor all of the staff that show exceptional dedication to the students of Hillrise. If you would like show your appreciation on a more school wide level, please reach out to Mrs. Martin at jmartin@lcps.net. Thank you for your consideration and support!
StopIt Solutions Reporting App
We are proud to announce our partnership with STOPit Solutions, a nationally recognized leader in school safety and wellness.
Through this partnership, everyone in our school community has access to the STOPit anonymous reporting app – a powerful tool designed to deter and promptly address instances of bullying, school violence, self-harm, and inappropriate behaviors.
With the STOPit app, users can anonymously submit tips, attach photo or video evidence, and privately message school leaders with the necessary information to help everyone involved.
In addition, when a student or anyone in our school community needs immediate support, the STOPit app provides direct access to the Crisis Text Line. Users can anonymously text with counselors (day or night) until they feel safe and calm. Each campus will continue to manage incidents during school hours but will have additional resources through STOPit if additional assistance is needed.
We encourage everyone in our school community to download the STOPit app. The app will also be available on all LCPS-issued devices.
If you haven’t already done so, we kindly urge parents and guardians to download the STOPit app and become familiar with its features. This will not only enable you to guide your children in using the app but will also demonstrate our collective commitment to the safety and wellbeing of our whole school community. Please know that this company has been vetted by the New Mexico Public Education Department and its security features are in compliance with federal guidelines under FERPA and HIPAA.
The STOPit app is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. If you have any questions or concerns, please visit with your school principal.
Maintaining a safe environment for all students is a top priority for LCPS. Thank you in advance for your support.
