BIOLOGY CLASS FIELD TRIP
Our Biology class will have a hands-on learning experience at the Texas Tech Outdoor Science Lab in Junction on Tuesday. They will leave campus at 8:00 am and return at 4:30 pm.

8th GRADE AND 10th GRADE U.S. HISTORY STAAR TESTS ON WEDNESDAY, APRIL 17

DRESS CODE REMINDER
With warm weather coming, students are beginning to wear shorts and skirts again. Many of them have grown taller since last fall, so please be sure to check the length of their shorts and skirts.
Elementary---shorts and skirts must extend past their fingertips when standing up straight.
Secondary--shorts and skirts may not be shorter than 3 inches above the knee.
STAAR TESTS
STAAR tests will be on the following dates:
Wednesday, April 17--US History 8th grade/10th grade
Wednesday, April 24--Science 5th/8th grade/Biology 9th
Wednesday, May 1--3rd-8th grade Math
Thursday, May 2--Algebra I 9th grade
TRASH TO TREASURE ART SHOW
Our second annual Trash to Treasure Art Show will be on Tuesday, April 16 from 5:30-6:15. Come enjoy some refreshments, tour the art show, and see who the winners are.
VFW LUNCHEON FOR AWARD WINNERS
The following junior high and high school students will be recognized at the VFW luncheon this Friday, April 19 at 11:30. Parents are invited to come celebrate with their students at the VFW. The school will provide transportation for the students.

FIELD TRIPS
Our high school Biology class will be going to Junction on Tuesday, April 16 to participate in the Texas Tech Outdoor Science Lab.
Seniors will be going to Austin on April 18 to tour the Texas State Capitol and the Bob Bullock Museum.
PreK-2nd grade will have a picnic and park day at Pfluger Park on May 1.
4th-6th grade will have an AG Day at the Burnes Pavilion on May 10.
Senior graduation trip to San Antonio will be on May 21.
CONGRATULATIONS FCCLA--HEADED TO NATIONALS
The following FCCLA teams have qualified for the National Competition to be held in Seattle, WA in June:

Yati Bhakta, Lacey Ellis, Emma Sperry--1st place National Qualifier Entrepreneurship Level 3.
Tatum Kinnibrugh--1st place National Qualifier Leadership Level 3.
Gavin Gonzales, Lucrecia Mendez, Kinley Timms--2nd place National Qualifier Promote and Publicize Level 3.

Seniors will be touring the State Capitol and the Bob Bullock Museum and Imax Theater on Thursday, April 18.

MONDAY FUNDAY
The last Monday Funday will be on Monday, April 29 at First Baptist Church Eden. The fun will start at 7:30 and go all day with lunch, snacks, games, and activities. All PreK-5th grade students are invited to come enjoy the FREE FunDay.
SCHOOL BOARD MEETING
The next school board meeting will be held on Thursday, April 18 at 6:00 pm.
ELECTIONS FOR CLASS OFFICERS
Current 8th--11th grade students are invited to sign up for student council elections beginning on Friday, April 19. Students can run for the offices of President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer for each class Freshmen--Senior.
