March is New Jersey's Arts in our Schools Month! We are celebrating with an annual exhibit of artworks done by Hilltop students in the Fletcher Gallery of Mendham Public Library. This highlight of students' artworks will be on display during the month of March

I know it is still March, but April is quickly approaching. April is poetry month and poetry is a great way for students to practice their fluency and build their vocabulary as well as comprehension. Attached are some poems to print and color as well as websites to explore a variety of types of poems. A lot of the poems are connected to what the students are learning in ELA. Kindergarten students are learning about trees, first grade students are learning about birds and in second grade students are learning about pollinators. There are several high interest poems for third and fourth grade students on Kenn Nesbit's website!
