Good afternoon! I hope you guys have had a great week and have some fun plans for this weekend... I wanted to send a quick update to keep you in the loop!

The meeting will be in the meeting room (formerly the weight room) behind the main gym at CHS. The executive board will meet at 6:30 PM with the regular booster meeting to follow at 7:00 PM. EVERYONE is welcome to attend the booster club meeting! We are starting to gear up for the 16th annual sand tournament and next season, so come be a part of it.

Also, we will be taking an arena tour at the conclusion of the booster meeting. It really is beautiful, and our kids are excited to be the first program to play their season in there!

Our cheesecake fundraiser was a HUGE success!! The girls did a tremendous job of meeting their individual goals - our entire program was 100%. All told, we raised almost $8,000 for our booster club.

Big thanks to Deanna Rogers and Susan Hall for being the point people on this - they were instrumental in getting orders/money from the girls at each checkpoint and getting cheesecakes distributed. Also, thank you to those parents who came to CHS on cheesecake delivery day and helped out!

Our platoon winners (groups that sold the most cheesecakes):

Their prize is that they will NOT be working out next Thursday during the athletic period, they will instead be having breakfast, courtesy of our booster club :)

As part of our #ServeAndReceive project, almost a dozen of our 1st period girls signed up to go with our special ed department to Carrollton this past Wednesday to help our kiddos compete in the special olympics track meet. Unfortunately, it was cancelled because of the rain, but we will end up having a field day here at Coppell in May in its place, since the track meet won't be rescheduled. Our girls will have another opportunity to serve then!

Off-season is going well! We have just finished our fifth week of Phase III (we went an extra week because of the spring break and long Easter weekend). Next week we will test in a variety of categories. with the girls competing to be the platoon that shows the greatest improvement. Phase IV then begin, with new weights/agilities on two days a week and three days a week in the gym working on volleyball-specific skills. Your daughter has access to all of the numbers from off-season in a google document, and I encourage you to ask her to show you the areas where she has showed improvement.

I'm so proud of the girls and how they are competing on their club teams! As student-athletes, this is a tough time for them as they balance their school responsibilities with their club ones... We recognize and appreciate the effort they are putting into individual improvement. That will only make our volleyball program better as a whole.

Many of our kiddos have already qualified for nationals - parents, if you would, please email me a pic of your daughter's team if they have qualified. I'll include those pics and names in the next update.
