Simpson Elementary School: March 2024 Edition

Dr. Seuss Reading Challenge

The Montesano PTO is challenging students to read 10 books or 10 chapters between March 1 - March 15. Students can write down what they read in each box and have an adult sign off on it. Students can turn in their completed reading challenge form to the school office to receive a sweet reward!

Alec's Army Bracelets

Fort those who haven't heard the challenging news, our Montesano High School Principal, Alec Pugh, has recently been diagnosed with cancer. If you would like to show your support for Mr. Pugh, Alec's Army/Monte Strong silicone bracelets are available for sale in the Simpson office for $5 each (cash only). All proceeds will go to the Pugh family.

February Bulldogs of the Month

Each month, Simpson students focus on developing specific character traits. Students learn what it looks like to exhibit these traits and are recognized for demonstrating them inside and outside of the classroom. February's character trait was "caring and kindness." Congratulations to February's Bulldogs of the Month: Levi M., Kayden D., Bailey B., Chloe S., Nora R., Deacon H., Morrigan S., Melanie C., Kylar H., Kaicee S., Andee C., Levi V., Hailey S., Braden H., Brayden B., Emily L., and Hadleigh R.

Students will focus on "responsibility" as the character trait for the month of March.

Missoula Children's Theatre

The Missoula Children’s Theatre is proud to present The Princess and the Pea coming to Simpson School in April. Auditions are open to all K-12 students and will be Monday, April 8 from 3:30-5:30 p.m., with the first practice immediately following from 5:30-7:30 p.m.. Subsequent practices will be April 9-April 12 from 3:15-5:15 p.m. and 5:30-7:00 p.m. Performances will be Saturday, April 13 at 2:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. at Simpson School.

Attendance Reporting

If your child is absent, please excuse the absence in one of the following ways:

Report the absence online via Skyward Family Access;
Email the school office;
Call the school office at 360-249-4331.

All absences must be excused within 24 hours. Acceptable excuses for student absences include: illness, medical/dental appointments, family emergency, bereavement, and religious occasions. Other reasons may be excused at the discretion of the school principal.
