Principal's Message
It was so great having students back in the building this week. Everyone was clearly a bit tired on Monday, but the energy and excitement was back in full swing by Tuesday. I hope students enjoyed the four-day week and use this weekend to prepare for the long stretch of school between now and Memorial Day. Spring in Oregon is always a busy time and I encourage everyone to do their best to balance the rush of Spring activities with rest and self care.
This Sunday, our amazing 6th graders will be heading to Outdoor School. This weeklong adventure for our 6th graders is an experience they will remember for the rest of their lives. The learning, community building, connects with nature and friendships that are developed during this week last a lifetime. I'm sure some of our 6th graders are nervous or anxious about the week ahead. That is normal and families should know the Outdoor School teachers are experts at this and your students are in good hands. I also know that many of your students will have so much fun that they will want to go back and be a counselor when they are juniors and seniors in high school. We'll see our 6th graders depart on Sunday and return next Friday. As a reminder, 6th graders should be picked up and head home when they arrive back to school.
