Superintendent's Update
Hello Cadets!
This weekend was another proud Cadet supporter weekend! On Saturday, the cast and crew of Epic Proportions competed at the District One Act Play competition in China Spring. They put on a fantastic performance with this humorous performance. I am proud to report they advanced to the Bi-District competition on Wednesday, March 21st, in Burnet, TX.
In addition to advancing to the next level of competition, we had several students recognized with individual awards for their outstanding performance:
Laura Sitton- All-Stat Crew Member
Knicholas Taylor- Honorable Mention Performer
Andre Boston- All-Star Performer
Evian Lucian-Coleman- All-Star Performer
Please congratulate Mrs. Allison Figley and her entire cast and crew for their outstanding performance!
Our high school fine arts programs will continue representing our district with pride this week! The band will travel to Groesbeck High School on Wednesday to participate at their UIL Concert and Sight Reading competition. They are set to perform at 5:15 PM. Dr. Mosby and her team have been working very hard and I have no doubt that our musicians will do a fantastic job! They are sounding GREAT!
The Cadet baseball team played great in the Itasca Tournament over the weekend. They closed it out with three wins and one loss. Here are the scores for each game:
Lost to Rio Vista 5-2
Won against Cayuga 7-6
Won against Hubbard 20-5
Won against Itasca 5-2
They will begin district play on March 25th.
The Lady Cadet softball team played in the Franklin Tournament over the weekend. They ended the tournament with two wins and three losses. They were scheduled to play Hillsboro over spring break on March 13th. However, we received notice that this game has been canceled. The coaches are trying to find another team to play. The Lady Cadets will begin district play on March 19th.
The annual Max Hibbits Relays track meet at MacPeoples Stadium has been moved up up to Wednesday due to the possibility of inclement weather forecasted for the original date on Thursday. The field events will begin at 3:45 p.m. and the running events will begin at 4:30 p.m. with the 3200 meter run.
Please don’t forget to set your clocks one hour ahead on Sunday, March 10th. Everyone will have an entire week to adapt to the time change since it is the first weekend of spring break! Spring break will begin with an early release day on Thursday, March 7th. The early release schedule for each campus is as follows:

One last reminder for all registered voters- please remember to go vote in the March Primary Election on Tuesday, March 5th, if you still need to do so. This election decides who will appear on the November 2024 ballot for each political party. Also, if you are over 18 or soon to be 18 and have yet to register to vote, I encourage you to do so. You must be registered by April 4, 2024, to be eligible to vote in the May 2024 election. Connally ISD will have three school board places and a bond for a proposed new elementary school on the May ballot. The best way to make your voice heard is by your vote!
Have a great week, and enjoy spring break!
