Weekend Newsletter March 31st

Holiday Weekend Newsletter 3/31
Dear Families,
We need your careful attention to unpaid and ignored student invoices. You can see how hard our HBBC board works with volunteers to raise money to meet all additional needs of the band. Your commitments to band fees are an important part of the music educational opportunities afforded your students in this program.
Please review your unpaid balances and if you have questions, we ask that you please contact our treasurer to discuss your payment commitments and to work out a plan.
- 18% of fees and items are still outstanding in Presto, which doesn’t sound like a lot, but it adds up to an impactful amount
- If these fees are not paid, we can’t meet our budget. If we don’t meet our budget, it may be necessary to increase fees next year
- 100 people owe less than $100 – Check your account and clear all fees and items. Presto makes this easy.
- Good financial standing means your account is clear or you have set up a payment plan with the Student Accounts Treasurer
- If you are not in good financial standing with HBBC, you may not attend the banquet, prom or receive graduation tickets
- We continue to pay our dedicated and wonderful clinicians for this year and in preparation for next year
- The longer it takes for you to pay what is owed, the more work and time you add to our volunteer treasurers, in communication and financial analysis updates
We are nearing the end of the school year and it is past time to fulfill your obligations.
Budgeted income is comprised of these areas:
- 39% General Band Fee Income and carryover
- 40% Fundraising
- 21% all other Student paid fees (items billed in Presto)
We can’t offer the same high quality program without all of these areas meeting their goals along with all open fees AND each student meeting your individual fundraising goal of $450!
NOTE:
We still have fundraisers where students can earn their committed fundraising goal.
We appreciate your help so that we can continue to serve ALL students.

"WHY ARE WE DOING SO MUCH FUNDRAISING? I AM TIRED OF SELLING THINGS AND WORKING FUNDRAISING EVENTS!!!"
Did you know that 35% of our operating budget comes from fundraising? That is $350,000!! We raise money through sponsorships, spirit nights, fundraising events like the Golf Tournament and Garage Sale, and through sales (poinsettias, mattresses, butter braids, and cookie dough, etc.). These fundraising activities help to offset operating costs of our elite band program. If we remove fundraising income, band fees would increase by $1,000 per student.
We have made very good progress with fundraising this year. Our spring goal is $100,000 because we need to meet our operating budget AND start saving money for much needed trailer updates and repairs. Getting our equipment and props to our contests is a MUST!!!
Thank you for your continued support and effort.
