EJMS Families,

We have a busy five weeks remaining in the school year! A separate Remind message was sent directly to 8th grade families, but here is a list of 6th and 7th grade End-of-Year Events.

Fees from Chromebook Damages

According to the Chromebook contract that was signed at the beginning of the school year: Failure to pay fees may mean students cannot participate in school-sponsored events.

Please note: all school fees, including Chromebook damage replacement costs, must be paid in full in order for students to be eligible to attend extracurricular activities which includes field trips and dances.

Please make sure you login to IC parent portal and pay any outstanding fees on your child’s account. You can also bring money to the office to be applied to the account balance. Additionally, students will not receive a school loaner device unless you have arranged a payment plan or participation in the School Community Service Program.

KSA (Kentucky Summative Assessment) Testing

There are no excused absences for EHO days for East Middle students during the testing dates below. Please make sure your child is at school on time, well rested, and ready to test each day and try to avoid scheduling any appointments during the following testing dates:

Wednesday, May 1st - Reading (all grades)
Thursday, May 2nd - Math (all grades)
Friday, May 3rd - Science (7th grade), Social Studies (8th grade)
Monday, May 6th - Language Mechanics and On Demand Writing (8th grade only)

Matball - The EJMS Annual Tournament

Around school last week, there was a lot of discussion about who was on which matball team. Teachers and other staff will coach teams that are currently forming to be part of our annual EJMS Matball Tournament. See the information below.
