Corron Mission Statement
From the Principal
On Monday we hosted an all school assembly to introduce our One School, One Book choice for this year. This has become an annual tradition that the students and staff love to engage in. Students got hints about Ranger in Time the previous week with clues shared related to the storyline set during westward expansion. At our assembly the book was introduced by listening to the first chapter and then a staff trivia game focused on the Oregon Trail. It’s always fun to have the whole school together, and students were so excited to be introduced to our very own Ranger that they can host in their classrooms for a day. Every family has received a copy of the book to read each evening with a schedule for the chapters. A huge THANK YOU to our Corron PTO for providing these books for our families. Our program will conclude on Thursday, May 9th with our Family Event from 6:30 - 7:30. Please complete the RSVP below if your family would like to attend.

Plastic Collecting Update
As you know, we have been collecting and recycling plastic film during this entire school year. So far, we have collected 1,789 pounds of plastic and are hoping to hit our goal of 2,000 pounds by the end of the school year, which we are on track to do!
The plastic your children bring into school gets sent to Jewel. Then Jewel sends it off to their distribution center, where they bale it into 1,000 pound bales. After Jewel has 40,000 pounds of plastic film, a company called TREX sends it to their manufacturing facility located in Winchester, Virginia. TREX makes items such as the bench we earned and deck boards. They melt down the plastic with recycled wood dust from flooring and cabinets to create these items.
Thank you so much for your cooperation, we are continuing to help the environment one plastic bag at a time.
The project has been so successful that we made it on CBS Channel 2 News.
