The Viking Culture this year is to "Win the Day". We challenge all students and staff to pick 1 goal each day to accomplish. When you have succeeded with that 1 goal, you have "Won the Day!"

Here are a few ways to "Win the Day"

• "Flip the Script" on struggles/challenges and make them successes!
• Follow "Kaizen" - strive for continuous improvement each day!
• "Be Kind" - smile, say hello, look out for your fellow vikings! Remember - everyone is going through a battle we may not know.. Be Kind Always!

• classroom calculator set
• classroom headphone set
• review boards, classroom incentives, and more!

What's Happening This Week at Cerro Villa!

WHTW: April 8 - April 12

8th Grade Families,

Monday is our 8th Grade Panoramic Picture Day. Please view the guidelines for dress attire for this "dress to impress" picture:

1. Bottoms:
1. Pants: dress pants (no jeans or anything with holes, tears, etc)... can be khaki, blue or black
2. All dresses/skirts must be at least fingertip length
2. Tops:
1. uniform shirt or other collared shirt (no t-shirts or sweatshirts)- tie is optional
2. blouses or dresses: shoulders and back must be covered by a sweater unless the straps are more than 4 inches thick. No midriffs or undergarments can show.
3. Shoes:
1. regular school shoes

Envelopes to purchase the photo can be found in the front office. We look forward to having a successful and memorable panoramic photo day!

Homework Help Flyer

Cerro Villa and Villa Park are collaborating to have National Honor Society students assist our students during Homework help! Two to four HS students will attend HW help to support CV students!

8th GRADE FAMILIES!

Is your child attending VPHS next year? If so, we strongly recommend them to apply for our ASB Spartan Apprenticeship program. This opportunity for incoming freshmen was just introduced last year, and due to the large number of applicants we have expanded the size of our program! Over the summer, accepted applicants will attend on-campus leadership workshops and three days at the Orange County Leadership Camp at the University of California, Santa Barbara. During the school year, Spartan Apprentices will be enrolled in the ASB Leadership class. In this class they will contribute to the processes of student government and learn more about leadership through hands-on experiences. This is an invaluable opportunity that will help connect your student with like minded individuals and other successful leaders on our campus and in the community.

Due to the competitiveness of this program, it is recommended that students apply as early as they can. Online applications will close Friday, April 12th at 11:59 PM. All applicants will participate in an interview. Interview times will be announced following the closing of the online application.

What is the PFSO?

The Cerro Villa Parent Faculty Student Organization (PFSO) is a non-profit organization that assists the faculty and staff in enhancing the education experiences of our children.

​The PFSO assists with many programs around the school, including dances, Student of the Month, Honor Society, and the 8th Grade Promotion Party. Without your support, these events would not be possible. Most importantly, the PFSO also supports the faculty and staff at Cerro Villa in acquiring items they need for their classrooms in order to enhance our children’s educational experiences.

Cerro Villa will host an ELAC (English Learner Advisory Committee) meeting on Thursday, April 18th at 08:30 am. The meeting will be held in room 119. We look forward to seeing you attend.

Cerro Villa will host a parent math overview meeting on Thursday, April 18th at 5:00pm in the CV Library. This meeting is to provide parents with insights into the various strategies, offerings, and support systems tailored to promote math success for our students at Cerro Villa. Topics will include Math overview, Data insights, Math supports, along with additional items that will help your child be successful at CV and in High School.

The Orange Public Library will offer different activities for 7th - 12th grade students during March and April. See flyers for details:
