Destination Imagination (DI) is a problem-solving competition team. DI challenges students to think creatively and use their imagination to design a unique solution to a multi-tiered STEAM challenge.

March 23rd was the NJ DI 2024 State Tournament. LVMS had two teams competing. The Mañana Bañana's competed in the Technical Challenge: Pinball Heroes earning first place. The Dimensional Innovators competed in the Engineering Challenge: Going The Distance earning first place. Congratulations to all the students and to Mrs. Bohrer for an amazing job!

During the months of April and May, the LVMS PTA is planning to sponsor a Shoe Drive. All types of GENTLY worn or new shoes are accepted, including sneakers, cleats, sandals, dress shoes, loafers, flip flops, etc. Please, no torn or damaged shoes, single shoes, roller skates or roller blades. Please consider saving shoes for the shoe drive as you plan your spring cleaning! Donation Bins will be in the lobby of the LVMS with a separate bin for each grade. Spirit points will be awarded to the grade with the most shoes donated. For information on where the shoes go, visit: https://funds2orgs.com/impact/

The LVMS PTA will be hosting a Volleyball Tournament for all 6-8 students on Friday, April 26th from 3:45 - 6:00 PM. The cost to participate is $20 per student (registration covers cost to participate in the event and includes a t-shirt for each participant). Students will be divided into teams of 6 participants. Each team will play in the single elimination tournament and are guaranteed to play in at least one game. Drinks and snacks will be available for purchase at the event. The LVMS Student Council is happy to announce that they will be hosting the Talent Show on Friday, May 10, 2024. Please see important dates to remember:

Talent Show Rehearsals: April 16th and 18th (time TBD)

Talent Show: Friday, May 10th at 7:00 PM

Attention 7th grade students!

Peer Leaders are role models for our LVMS community and should exhibit the characteristics and attributes of a Long Valley Middle School PANTHER. This includes good character, care for others, being responsible, and accountable for their academic success, and positive decision making. Our PEER LEADER APPLICATIONS ARE AVAILABLE IN THE GUIDANCE OFFICE. Applications for the Peer leader program are due by FRIDAY APRIL 5th, no late submissions will be accepted. Turn in completed applications to the Guidance office.

Battle of the Books is back! The purpose of Battle of the Books is to encourage students to enjoy reading, to read more often and to read a greater variety of books. The team format encourages students to share the challenge of reading with their friends and to learn how to work together to accomplish a task. Please stop by the Library or email Mrs. Taylor-Flynn for more information.
