Rabbit Creek Elementary
Principal Update:
Rabbit Creek Families,
We have made it to Marvelous May! We only have 16 days left of school. This means sixteen more days of friendship building, activating our curiosities, and learning new things. To help your child optimize their time at school, we are keeping a consistent schedule while incorporating fun, interactive, and engaging activities. As the end of the year approaches, we have much to look forward to.
Although we love seeing our students playing on our grounds, I want to remind families that students are to go straight to class in the mornings between 8:50-9:00. Rabbit Creek's campus is closed until 4:00. We encourage our students to check in with their families before returning back to school.
I'd like to thank our AMAZING PTA! If it weren't for all of our members, Rabbit Creek wouldn't have been able to provide the following events:
- Picture Day
- After school activities: art club, pickleball, pearler club, ski club, running club, chess club, etc.
- Teacher Appreciation Week
- Dances
- Recess Equipment
- Spirit Wear
- Back to School Night
- Dances
- Jog-A-Thon
- Classroom supplies
- Guest authors and artist presentors
- Spelling Bee
- Bike to School
- Kindergarteners and 5/6th grade T-shirts
- School Buses and Field Trips
- Field Day
- Drama Club
AND much, much, much more. If you aren't a PTA member or haven't volunteered this year, we highly encourage you to do so! With your help, we will be able to continue these amazing opportunities for our students. PTA will not be able to sustain without YOUR help! We hope to see you again next year!
That being said, we are still looking for many more volunteers for our Field Day event happening on Friday, May 17th. If you are able to spare some time, please sign up at: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0B48A9A82AA3FFC34-48676635-rabbit

Teacher appreciation week will be held the week of May 6th. Please take a look at the flier to see how your child can recognize their amazing teacher and staff members. If you'd like to bring in something for the staff as a whole, please contact Mrs. Bais! Thank you for thinking of us.
Completing my first year as the Rabbit Creek principal, I couldn't be more proud of our school, community, staff and students. Thank you for your time, commitment, and countless hours of helping us work with your child. It has been an honor working with our families and students. I look forward to continuing our work into the 2024-25 school year!

Healthy Future Logs
FEBRUARY LOGS EXTENDED DUE DATE TO WEDNESDAY, MARCH 6th
Alaska children K-6th grade can complete the Challenge. Students keep a log of their daily physical activity and need to be active at least 60 minutes a day for 15 days each month. This helps Alaska children get closer to the national recommendation of 60 minutes of physical activity every day for the best health.
Students write down the names of the activities in the boxes for the days they are physically active for at least 60 minutes. (They can simply write the names of the activities, for example: skiing, running, raking the leaves, recess, PE ) They can log the time spent doing the activity as well if they wish, although this is not required.
At the end of each healthy futures challenge month students can turn in their completed log during PE and earn healthy futures prizes, and a grand prize drawing ticket.
The grand prize can be selected from a menu of fun items including Ladderball, Spikeball, a Healthy Futures Hoody and more!
Stay active!
