The Husky Monthly
Sherman County School Newsletter - February/March
We hope that all families had a nice winter break 2.0 π with our unexpected school closures. Truly, we appreciate the understanding and flexibility of all families during the recent inclement weather school closures and we are so thankful for all the hard work and collaboration with the ODOT crews and the North Wasco transportation department. At THIS time, as of now, we will not need to add any additional school days in June.
In recent school board meetings district leadership has begun to discuss the strategic planning process. The last strategic plan in the district was completed in 2018. As we look forward, district leadership has agreed that a good first step will be to do foundational identity work this spring, with all stakeholders. This work will shape the direction we head as a school community and will serve as a foundation and provide guardrails for decision-making going forward in the coming years. This process will begin first with our staff in April and then will include processes to involve students and then families/the community.
We are better together, which means we get better student outcomes when we all contribute to the direction and plans for the school community. We invite you to be involved, to engage in the work, and provide your input and feedback through the process in the coming months and following year.
Every student. Every day. Whatever it takes. 100%
Sincerely,
Julia Fall
