IDOE recently released this Accessibility and Accommodations Updates Memo which references several documents that were recently released or updated to ensure proper accommodations being utilized appropriately during Spring test administration. Included documents referenced:

• 2019-20 Accessibility & Accommodations Guidance was updated with changes outlined on pages 48 and 49 to include, but NOT limited to: permissive mode removed from IREAD-3; removed human reader for online assessments, Multiplication Table allowed for ILEARN Science 4 and 6 as well as ILEARN Math 3-8 and ILEARN Biology; Hundreds Chart allowed for ILEARN Science 4 and 6; TTS only available in English for Stacked Translations.
• I AM Accessibility Framework
• ILEARN Accessibility Framework
• IREAD-3 Accessibility Framework
• ISTEP+ Accessibility Framework
• Embedded within this memo is the ILEARN Science Grades 4 and 6 and Biology Multiplication Table and Hundreds Chart Memo of the same date, which states that both of these are available as non-embedded accommodations on the ILEARN Science 4, 6 and Biology Assessment. PLEASE NOTE THAT while the multiplication table will be reflected in TIDE the HUNDREDS CHART WILL NOT BE. TAs will need to provide this accommodation to students who have this accommodation in their IEPs although it will NOT be reflected in TIDE.
• 2019-20 Calculator Policy updated February 2020 to include the hundreds chart and 9x9 multiplication chart referenced in the bullet above.

*Also note that the calculator policy allows for a calculator as an accommodation for ILEARN Science Grades 4 and 6. At this time we are NOT seeing this accommodation in TIDE for Grade 4 but do NOT have confirmation that this correct. I will share that information as soon as it is confirmed. The ONLY accommodation we have confirmed will NOT show up in TIDE is the Hundreds Chart for Science.

A minor update was made to the test selection process within AIR’s online Test Delivery System’s TA Interface. TAs must now select tests individually using the + button to expand the list to the specific test. (Click the top of the "tree" no longer selects every test under the heading!!). See this memo for further details.

Calculator Policy: updated February 2020

Students may experience irregularities during testing. Remember, the best way to respond to irregularities that significantly impact the student test experience is to pause student testing (taking note of the STN, name of the test, and time the test was paused) and contact your CTC immediately. The earlier IDOE receives information regarding the irregularity the more options they have available to correct the issue and assist the student/school.

The Indiana Department of Education’s Office of Special Education (OSE) released a webinar (about 35 minutes) regarding the handling of accommodations issues in IIEP. As a reminder, student accommodations should be confirmed prior to all test administrations.

I AM Accessibility Framework

The last webinar for First Time I AM Test Administrators is Tuesday, March 10th. This is a required training for anyone who did not administer I AM in 2019. Educators must register themselves on the I AM Portal and log into the training in order for AIR to track their attendance otherwise, they will be unable to administer the assessment. Register Here!

All I AM TAs are required to complete the I AM TA Certification Course available on the I AM Portal beginning March 9.

• This course consists of three training modules and an online quiz.
• Each module can be completed in roughly 30 minutes.
• It is not necessary to complete the entire training in one sitting.
• TAs must score an 80% or higher on the quiz in order to be certified.
• Completion of this course can be tracked in TIDE.

Remember that the I AM Certification Course is different from the ILEARN/ISTEP+/IREAD-3 Certification Course. TAs who will be administering both I AM and general education assessments must complete both courses in order to access the appropriate student test

March 20th the I AM Test Administrator’s Manual (TAM) and Test Coordinator’s Manual (TCM) should post to Indiana Portal.

ILEARN Accessibility Framework

• 9x9 Multiplication Table
• Hundreds Chart

ILEARN Training will take place Friday, April 3rd at 1:00 in the Computer Lab at Forest Hills. This should allow a week to train your staff followed by a week to get practice tests in before the operational window opens.

Online Practice Tests are currently available for ILEARN 3-8 and Biology.

IDOE posted two new exemplar responses to a third grade released Performance Task with scoring rationales. These authentic student responses reflect high scores on the writing rubric with lower character counts compared to similar scoring responses. This new guidance can be found under the “Rubrics and Scoring Information” drop-down on the ILEARN Sample Items and Scoring webpage.

The IREAD-3 Test Administrator's Manual (TAM) was updated yesterday (March 5th). If you missed the email the two most important updates are:

• Page 55 Top in response to Question 4 Students should have selected "C" (previously said D). This is in the Practice Test Script.
  
• The last day to ship paper materials is April 3rd (previously April 2nd).

A full changelog can be found on page 72 of the updated TAM. Please make sure all TAs are using the updated TAM, especially for the Practice Test Item 4.

IREAD-3 Accessibility Framework

• Permissive Mode removed from IREAD-3 02.24.20

• IREAD-3 Test Administrator's Manual (TAM) is posted in the secure portal. There is ONE manual for both Spring and Summer. Scripts for all 3 online segments, paper assessments, Hard of Hearing and practice tests are all included in the TAM!
  
• Secure Scripts will post to STCs secure inbox March 6th.
• Additional Material Order Window is currently open and must be ordered prior to Spring Break.
• Make sure to know which 4th and 5th graders to test!
• Test Window is March 30 - April 3.
• April 3rd is the LAST day to ship paper assessments.

Results should be available April 6th.

The testing window opened Monday, February 24th for Part 1. The Office of Student Assessment (OSA) will conduct unannounced onsite monitoring visits during the Spring 2020 ISTEP+ FTA testing window beginning February 24. Please ensure that school administrators and staff are aware that these onsite visits will be conducted. Click here for the IDOE Memo with the links including the Checklist.
