Titan Times: Week 33

Titan Families,

Our students have been studying about the eclipse phenomena and were thrilled to have the opportunity to see it on campus and/or with you! It was truly a memorable moment; one I will never forget. I'm incredibly thankful I got to experience it as your principal. Hearing our students share their wonderings, awe, and joy was priceless! I appreciate all of the efforts our staff put into planning such a lovely experience, too. Check out the video and pictures here!

The PTA Spring Disco was last Saturday, and it was a great success! Thank you to our River Place Elementary families for their generous donations. We appreciate all you do to help provide the students and staff with instructional materials, supplies for various activities on and off campus, and so many other things in our Titan Community. You are much appreciated!

Important Announcements:

• The lost and found will be organized this week and items will begin being donated Friday 4/12. Please have your Titan(s) check for their items this week!!
• The Reading Language Arts STAAR test for grades 3-5 is next week on April 16th.
• This week is Librarian Appreciation Week, so please join us in celebrating Ms. Eubanks!

• 11th: SBDM Meeting (Campus Impact Team) at 3:15 PM
  

• 16th: RLA STAAR- STAAR Testing- no visitors on campus

• 17th: 5th Science STAAR- no visitors on campus

• 19th: PTA General Meeting at 8 AM in the cafeteria

• 19th: Opera Treasure Chest Assembly starting at 1 PM for Grades 2-5th grade

• 23rd: Math STAAR STAAR testing schedule

• Book Fair is the Week of April 29- May 3rd

• 30th: 5th Grade instrument tryouts

Spring is in the air and so is discussion of registration, staffing, and class placements for the next school year. We hope everyone plans to return in the 24-25 school year, and we look forward to registering new families and students. To support our staff allocations and class placement decisions next year, we ask that each family fill out this form by Tuesday, April 16th for each child in their family. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our front office. Thanks!

Many families take time out of their day to let our office and administration team know how much they value our Titan Staff. We share with our staff in our staff newsletter and at staff meetings moments of "shine" from you, and we encourage you to consider filling out this form whenever you believe our district should celebrate a staff member publicly, too. If you have any questions, please let Dr. Sharp know.

WATCH D.O.G.S. is a national program focusing on the prevention of violence in our children’s schools by using the positive influence of fathers and father-figures to be a positive role model for all students. The change this year is that you don't need to volunteer for an entire day; we will have hourly opportunities available should you prefer that. Anything to keep your involvement on campus!

While on campus, WATCH D.O.G.S may-

• work in small groups with kids,

• support staff out at recess,

• support lunch room clean up and etiquette eat lunch,

• monitor the school entrances and hallways,

• assist with arrival and dismissal,

• mentor students, and much more!

How to get Involved-

1. Read through the expectations and sample schedule

2. Register as a Leander ISD Volunteer

3. Fill out the RPE Watch Dogs Registration Form

4. After confirming volunteer status, our assistant principal, Lacy Olmstead, will reach out with more information and schedule.
