Did you know we have 18 paraprofessionals working in our building? These people work hard to support our teachers and students in all areas of the school.

The last piece of our new playground equipment is finished and the students are loving it!

Our first grade class took their annual field trip to the Wray Fish Hatchery. The students examined fish eggs under a microscope, fed fish in the pond and learned about how they move fish from the hatchery to lakes and ponds in Colorado. They finished the day visiting the home of Bob Bledsoe and learned about fossils and dinosaurs.

On Tuesday, the Akron School hosted its annual STEAM night! This year's activities included making elephant toothpaste, an ice cream in a bag experiment, building a soil profile and a presentation about electricity. A big thank you to Mrs. Laura Loutensock and all the community groups that help make this night a huge success!

Two members of the Colorado State Officer team visited the Akron FFA students on April 2nd. We were joined by Sentinel, Ryer Roberrs from Fruita, CO, and Executive Committee member, Lane Stevens from Highland. The students enjoyed the workshops that were presented throughout the school day.

Akron FBLA had a very successful State Leadership Conference. It was a busy three days but we are so proud of these kids! Go Rams! Look out Orlando!

The middle school track team competed at their first track meet last Friday in Akron. The athletes competed well and have set new goals to work for during the season.

The MS Rams will be in action again on Friday, April 5 as they host the Akron Middle School track meet.

Last Saturday our track team attended the Kiowa Invite. Despite the wind, our athletes came out and worked hard.

The Rams traveled to Holyoke last Saturday to take on the Dragons. The Rams split with Holyoke, 5-4 and 12-10.
