R-PTLE Weekly Family Communication
Week of April 8th, 2024 (#30)
Last Quarter Begins!!!
Dear Families,
I hope your Spring Break was fun, safe, and full of lasting memories! We have 9 weeks of school left this year. There are so many thing to fit into this short period of time and before you know it, it will be over. Pay close attention to materials being sent home from here on out. A lot of calendar items packed in the last 9 weeks of the school year!
There is an eclipse event on Monday around 3:15 PM. We may have an opportunity to observe some of it towards the end of the school day. Our library provided special glasses for our students to wear so they can safely observe the eclipse. Let's hope for a clear day!

March is Reading Month - Finding the Golden Ticket!
On Thursday, our ending celebration for March is Reading Month was 200+ students opening up a Willy Wonka Chocolate Bar to reveal if they won one of the 5 golden tickets. What an awesome and fun way to celebrate a month full of cool experiences! Congrats to our five Golden Ticket Winners!
Read to Feed - WELL DONE!!!
I don't want to spoil the entire article that will be highlighted in the next edition of Rocket City News, but our 3rd grade students and families stepped up in a HUGE way to support those in need. I little taste of the article...
...This year once again Twin Lake Elementary 3rd graders have been giving their time to read, outside of the school day. They have totaled 20,000 minutes reading outside of the school day! ...
...The 3rd graders also collected pledges from family and friends. They collected $1,335!
We will be shopping at Meijer Store #71 to buy food for The Food Pantry at the Muskegon Rescue Mission! ...
Kid's Food Basket Food Drive
The support our community provides when "giving to others" events come up is truly amazing. thank you so much for modeling the selfless acts like donating to causes that help those in our Muskegon County area. Our 3rd graders did an amazing job with their Read to Feed efforts, as mentioned above. Now it is time for our 4th graders to jump in.
Information was sent home Thursday from our 4th grade students. All students should have brought home information related to this important learning opportunity of helping those in need!
Kindergarten Registration is OPEN!!!
Kindergarten Registration is permanently open. Please walk in the office during school hours (3175 Fifth St. TL, 49457) or call in at 231-719-3190. You can schedule an appointment or walk in. We have a small packet for you to fill out.
We also need proof of residency (something like a bill addressed to your home), copy of license, child's birth certificate and immunity records. Please help us spread the word to everyone in the area with a Kindergarten or Discovery Kindergarten aged student.
