Headteacher - Mr J Ayre
Assistant Headteacher - Mrs S Humphreys
Associate Assistant Headteacher - Miss L Brook
Dear Parents & Carers,
It has been a fantastic week of learning at Carleton Park. At the beginning of the week, Miss Brook led an assembly to remind pupils about the range of experiences we have on offer to develop the wider curriculum. Each pupil has a ‘50 experiences passport’ which is an important record of the activities that they have undertaken to support the wider curriculum development during their time at Carleton Park. This week, Year 1 achieved a stamp in the passport to show they have been learning to ride a bike. Thank you to Cycle North for providing this opportunity for our pupils.
To celebrate the London Marathon that is taking place at the weekend, Miss Worsnop and the sports leaders organised a whole school daily mile event. There were pictures of famous London landmarks for the pupils to see as they raced around the course. We were all surprised to see the dinosaur and the penguin encouraging everyone along!
During the summer term, we have arranged for our linked Future in Mind Mental Health Support Team Practitioners (part of Wakefield Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services CAMHS) to come into school to deliver the workshops below for pupils and parents. We are also on the waiting list for Year 2 and Year 4 to take part in the ‘Mood Boosters’ workshop.
Tuesday 7th May – Y5 ‘Friendships’ workshop
Tuesday 21st May – Y6 ‘Managing Worries' (Transition to secondary school)
Monday 17th June (15:15 - 16:45) Y6 Parents/Carers workshop (Transition to secondary school) further details to follow.
Other year groups will be given the opportunity to work with Future in Mind at a later date.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Best Regards,
Mr Ayre
