Hello Primary Pups!
Goodbye Primary Pups!
As many of you may have heard, at the January Board of Education meeting, I was appointed to the position of Director of Curriculum for PK- 5 here in Wall Township. Although I am sad to leave this amazing little place, I am comforted knowing that Mrs. Bagarozza will be replacing me here as the new principal of Wall Primary School.
I am so grateful for my time here. The entire faculty and staff immediately welcomed me with open arms. I quickly realized that it is because of these magnificent grown-ups that Primary is truly special. Their competence, kindness, patience and willingness to always go above and beyond for our students and their families is second to none.
Before I say goodbye, I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to our Wall Primary Family. Our faculty and staff, our PTA executive board, our parents and of course, our students all have made this experience an exceptional one. I have learned so much, and I have so enjoyed this position because of all of you.
Best of luck to Mrs. Bagarozza! I know you're in great hands!
Fondly,
Erin Embon
A Note from your new Primary Principal, Mrs. Bagarozza
I am delighted to introduce myself as the new principal of Wall Primary School, effective March 1, 2024. I am incredibly excited to take on this position. This building is so special as it is where our youngest learners begin their journey in the Wall Township School District. It is my honor and privilege to join the exemplary staff of Wall Primary and work alongside them to ensure that your child’s first experience here is a wonderful and memorable one.
I have recently returned from my maternity leave after my husband and I welcomed our daughter, Siena Rae, in August 2023. Prior to that, I have been an educator in Wall Township for the past 12.5 years, first as an special education teacher and then as a Supervisor of Special Education, PK-5. I started at Old Mill School as a self-contained language and learning disabilities (LLD) teacher until becoming a supervisor in the special services department over two years ago. I will continue in my role as supervisor while also becoming the Primary Pups’ Principal. As a supervisor, I have overseen the extended school year (ESY) programs and worked closely with the Child Study Team at Primary to support student needs. Because of that, some of you may know me by my maiden name, Samantha Roberts.
Throughout my time in the Wall Township School District, I have been an advocate for inclusive learning environments that support all of our students’ diverse needs. I look forward to continuing this at Wall Primary School. Please know my door is always open and I look forward to getting to know you and your children. Feel free to reach out at any time to discuss your concerns or provide feedback. I will be having a Principal “Meet and Greet” on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at Wall Primary School at 7:30 pm. This will be followed by an in-person PTA meeting at 8:00 pm. I hope to see many of you there.
I can’t wait to begin this next chapter with all of the Wall Primary families and look forward to the many exciting events coming up over the next few months.
Best,
Samantha Bagarozza

From your LDTC:
More Syllable Awareness Activities
Syllables are one of the building blocks of phonological awareness, which is crucial for early literacy development. Teaching children to recognize and segment syllables in words helps them become more proficient readers and writers. It is easier for students to orally blend syllables, like “butt/er/fly” and say “butterfly”, than it is to orally blend phonemes like “d/o/g” to say “dog”. When we teach these phonological awareness skills, we should start with syllables. Here are some syllable counting videos you can watch with your child.

Student Wellness
100% Accountable
The month of March is dedicated to the exploration of the mindset, 100% Accountable.
Students will begin to apply the 100% Accountable Mindset. They will begin to take responsibility for their choices, so they can be more in control of their lives. They will practice overcoming beliefs that hold them back from their dreams. They will learn to focus their energy and make the most of their time, and they will understand learning new skills is a part of growing through life.
4 Key Components in this Mindset include:
- Own Your Life
- Overcoming Limiting Beliefs
- Focus Your Energy
- Grow Through Life
