Principal's Message
Happy Friday Cougar Families!
It has been a busy week full of final exams and end of quarter projects. Please celebrate the accomplishments of your students and remind them that our final grading period of the year (Quarter 4) begins on Monday.
I want to particularly highlight the experiential learning opportunity that our 11th grade humanities classes provides for our students on 1920’s day. Students dress up as if they were living in the 1920’s, learn the Charleston, exhibit art, create silent films in black and white, and learn the lingo of the day while drinking ginger ale and root beer in a makeshift speakeasy. 1920’s day is a culminating experience that requires high level staff collaboration and subject integration. It embodies the ideals of what Steele Canyon tries to provide for our students every day.
This is a reminder that next week is the last week of school before our Spring Break! The last day of class is next Friday, March 22 and school will resume Monday, April 8.
Have an awesome weekend and don’t forget to check out our Spring Musical Chicago! I assure you that it is nothing short of amazing. Please click here for times and tickets.
Traffic Pattern Update:
We will be making a change in our traffic pattern to enter campus before and after school. Instead of having the option to turn left from the right hand lane, all cars in the right hand lane will be directed to the back of campus. This change is the result of many near accidents and hearing the concerns of many students, staff, and family members. The change will take effect after we return from Spring Break. April 8.
