Case Reports
Students will receive an explanation of their ELA and math Case scores. These reports project how they will score on TCAP assessments. Some students are just a few points behind where they need to be in order to be proficient or mastered.
A tip for parents - Have your child come up with strategies of how to bring their scores up in order to be proficient or mastered. Data talks are effective and will help your child know the importance of doing their best at school.
Numbers represent the following information:
TN Achievement Levels and Descriptions
1 - Below Expectations
2 - Approaching Expectations
3 - Met Expectations
4 - Exceeded Expectations
This report also gives a comparison based on the number of items answered correctly needed to score proficient in the comparison section.
An ELA example is to the right.

Essential 55 Review
Rule #4
During discussions, respect other students’ comments, opinions, and ideas. When possible, make statements like, “I agree with John, and I also feel that…” or “I disagree with Sara. She made a good point, but I feel that…” or, “I think Victor made an excellent observation, and it made me realize…”
Rule #5
If you win or do well at something, do not brag. If you lose, do not show anger. Instead, say something like, “I really enjoyed the competition, and I look forward to playing you again,” or “Good game,” or don’t say anything at all. To show anger or sarcasm, such as “I wasn’t playing hard anyway. You really aren’t that good,” shows weakness.
Rule #6
If you are asked a question in conversation, ask a question in return.
For example:
Me: “Did you have a nice weekend?”
You: “Yes, I had a great time. My family and I went shopping.
What about you? Did you have a nice weekend?”
Rule #7
When you cough, sneeze, or burp, it is appropriate to turn your head away from others and cough into the bend of your arm. You may also use your hand if it is covered with a tissue. Using your hand or a fist is not acceptable. Afterward, you should say, “Excuse me.”
Rule #8
Do not smack your lips, “tsk”, roll your eyes, or show disrespect with gestures.
Congratulations to Zoey Lavinder for earning her 2nd degree blackbelt!
